I am cleaning cages today and also decided to empty out my Nosquito trap which we turn on at night if there is anything flying around. It works. I just dumped out 40+ house flies from it.

If you have any sort of indoor fliers, I recommend the Nosquito Indoor Insect Trap . It uses a lamp to attract fliers and then the fan to suck them into the basket where they dry out pretty quickly. One might put it on a timer and it can also be used as a night light. I keep mine on top of the fridge in the kitchen.

I have been wondering if one of these units outdoors would help alleviate fliers. But until I get something else to experiment with, I highly recommend the Rescue Fly Trap Bag . You fill it with water and the attractant inside brings em in quickly. They cannot get out and end up drowning. These smell a bit like poop so its best to keep them away from the house so that the bugs are drawn away from the house.

These two methods used together can drastically reduce flies around the place.

They have mosquito misters. You might set up a system and schedule it to run a few times each night to lower the population around the place. And they have the propane powered baited mosquito catchers that might be fun to drive. You might find one used on Craigslist.

Even in the middle of the woods we have no mosquito problems. We have very few mosquitos because we have the best mosquito control of all: bats, and lots of 'em.

I have a bad case of fruit flies and to get rid of them you can just set out bowls of apple vinegar. they like it so they get stuck in it and drown.
