I will be getting my first glider tomorrow afternoon, and I know that it is better to get a pair.
The lady I'm adopting only has one, and I can't really afford another one $150 right this moment.

What is the longest would it be OK to wait to get another one?

I had my one glider for almost seven months without another glider, but spend anywhere from 2 to 7 hours a day with her. I would suggest getting another one within a few months, but that was my first glider and it made it nice that I could bond with her. Now the other one is bonding even faster once she was introduced with my older glider. The younger two gliders are, from what I've heard, the higher the success rate of introducing them.

Have you tried looking on craigslist or at rescues? You may be able to find 2 for the $150.00 you have to spend.

Well I get mine tomorrow for $100 and she comes with her cage and everything, including vitamins.
I've looked on craigslist. I've looked every where and the one I found is the closest I can find on, and she's about 30 minutes away.
Also, she's two, so I'm not sure if it would be harder on her on not.
I will be able to spend tons of time with her, considering I don't work right now, and don't have anything really to do. Also, I'm usually up till almost 4am every night.

My little guy was fine for six months and then he started to self mutilate & show other signs of horrible depression, to the point where I thought I might lose him. It all happened so fast.....I'd get one as soon as possible!

Read this: http://www.sugarglider.com/gliderpedia/index.asp?Introductions The thirty-day quarantine is really important! It will protect your gliders from any possible disease that the other one has, and it will allow your new glider to get used to being in your home, to feel comfortable and confident. At the same time, the new glider and the one you already have will probably be communicating with each other in their separate rooms. Remember, re-homing is usually very stressful to these little guys. And since gliders are very territorial, introductions are usually also stressful. So allow them plenty of time to adapt to each others' presence before you bring them face-to-face.

Thanks for the link. Will be reading as soon as I'm done posting this. I do have a quick question tho. I get my sugar today in about 3 hours and will it be ok to go ahead and stick her right into her cage? She'll be the only one and it is the same cage she had at her previous owner. We get all her supplies along with her.
I'm guessing it is. I just want to make sure tho, because you never know.

Yes you can put her back in her own cage when you get home. Even though she is used to the cage, she will need some time - a day or two - to get used to the new smells, sights and sounds in your home. Do not try to handle her much for that day or two. Talk to her often to help her get used to your voice. After a couple days you can begin carrying her in a bonding pouch during the day and then move to out of cage play in a tent or glider safe room in the evenings so she can explore you. Take things at her pace and she will soon love to be with you.

Good luck with your new glider.
