Even though I knew my sugar gliders knew how to open the latch on their cage I was 99.9% sure my idea to secure was enough. All side door were zip tied, bottom grate was zip tied to frame, 2 front doors had a clip (similar to mountain climbing clip). I kept them in glider escape proof room for last 6 months and thought all was well. Yesterday morning I saw cage latch was open and the space created until clip caught was wide enough for escape. They knocked things down and I see evidence of glider fun all over the room but LUCKILY they were both in pouch when I checked. What do others use to secure latches that are easy and fast to open/close?

I'm glad they both returned to their pouch! That would have been scary having a lost glider! You have zip ties... I'm not sure what else you can use. I know some people have used plastic clamps to keep their cage doors closed. I'm not sure where you could get them, but I imagine Walmart would be a good place to start looking.

I'm assuming you have a custom PVC cage. Correct me if I'm wrong. If so, there is a flap latch that you can screw onto the doors. It's hard to explain, on one side there's a metal flap that folds over onto a key shaped knob that you twist to lock. I'll try to post a pic since thats a terrible explanation.

It's not a PVC cage. It's a regular 6 foot tall aviary cage with two big double doors in front and 2 small ones on each side.
