It's all a learning curve..... I am ok with everything I guess... I just only ever need to know foods not to feed....

How about cheese???? If they will eat it.....

I offer shredded REAL CHEESE on their salads because mine won't touch yogurt. It needs to be REAL cheese, not cheese food and in moderation as it can cause constipation and some gliders, like humans are lactose intolerant. Luckily none of mine have a problem with it but if you offer it, watch them until you know how it affects them.

No onions, no garlic and if you get cat toys which they love, no catnip.
quote:

With any completely new diet, gliders may take a few days to eat it well. They won't starve eating their fruits and vegetables for a few days while they learn to eat the HPW with them.

So far my babies seem very happy.... Crabby spice only crabs in the pouch but is so willing to take any food from me while crabbing. I found that the don't like cucumbers but love oranges. The are not so good with pineapple but love apples and carrots. Still trying new stuff to see.... They still won't eat the HPW... Would anyone suggest that I just put that in the cage and nothing else to sort of force them to eat that????

Be careful of the oranges....the citris is acidic and can cause tummy troubles. Once a week is uaually good.

And if it's been that long since she's eaten her HPW it may be time to look into another diet.

Have you tried breaking away from it for a night or two and then going back to the HPW?

Maybe some egg or chicken for a night or two and then give them the HPW again?

www.buzzle.com/articles/calcium-rich-foods-list-of-high-calcium-foods.html

Above is a site I found that lists calcium-rich foods, but I don't know how to link it, sorry. I'm sure copy & paste should work if anyone interested in checking it out.

If you read my previous threads you will see that I just got these ladies 2 weeks ago. I have the HPW which I made and tried but they don't eat it. I was asking to try and get them to eat it would I or should I just limit them to that so they will try and maybe like?

Which 'HPW' are you using and how did you make it? Each type has specific directions for mixing - instant & complete require water only. HPW Plus and original HPW using Wombaroo High Protein Supplement require the addition of honey, eggs, water and bee pollen.

Most gliders love this diet because of the honey in it.

Some owners feel their gliders do not like honey - if you feel that is the situation you might choose another feeding plan that uses less honey in its recipe.

You can look at other glider feeding plans using links on my web page:
