My glider doesn't seem to like any toys either. Her favorite thing to do is just climb on the branch and fleece tunnel I have in her cage.

I haven't tried one. What's the best type of foraging toy you have tried?

there's a few different ones but I don't have the DIY links available right now...hopefully someone else will come alone. Sorry I couldn't help more.
you coul try putting some straws with frozen honey or yogurt in them through a wiffle ball.

How do you get the yogurt or honey inside the straw to freeze it without making a mess? And will she eat the straw trying to get the honey out? I don't want her to choke.

I drip honey inbetween the layers for them to forage.

Maple Syrup in their log

treats hidden in toothbrush covers.

These wiffle balls are great cuz they are solid on the bottom so they hold mealies/treats wonderfully.... Walmart seasonal toy section....

My girls don't really play either, Skadoosh will run on the wheel, Lulu doesn't. They do like to look around for food, so I just scatter treats around on & in their accessories or furnishings if you will s/a swing basket, the deep hollows of their fake branch, and wodent wheel play bin & basket that contains some fleece pieces and small plastic Easter eggs. I just put some pellets in the eggs, I'll see if they get to them by tomorrow am. They do love to eat, and they do run around all over the cage, they hangout on the floor and furnishings on the floor as well as other items hanging about at various levels and also on cage walls. Occasionally I'll see them hanging upside down, sometimes from cage top, reminds me of a bat especially when they stretch out their flaps.

When we have them out they run all over us, the chairs and really love to hangout on hanging clothes. My husband and I like to try to keep them between us, allowing them to jump from one to the other, hoping it becomes a fun game for them. Eventually I hope they will be bonded to us that we can move farther apart and really let them glide back and forth between us. We try to use as dim a light as possible.

i will have to try the straws and wiffleballs. ive done other foraging toys, they dont like em. mine wont even use the fleece stuff. they like to run on the branches and the wheel and then reach thru to the bottom of their cage n grab pieces of the litter (paper pellet) and throw at the cats and on the floor. then the ball pit when there are mealies in it (the cats dont pay ANY attention to the gliders but the cage is uber secured and sturdy just in case. figured id throw that out there in case anyone was concerned) even tho they seem to be a very happy trio.

Oh my goodness!!!! They are absolutely precious! I especially love the first pic of them in the legos!!! And thanks so much for the ideas! I will definitely have to try these out. I see in one of the pictures you have a basket of toys in the cage. Do you leave those toys in the cage all the time? Do they ever just randomly take toys out of the basket and play with them?

That is one of their "ball pits." Over time I have figured out what they like. I have one ballpit with nothing but plastic balls, plastic army men & dinosaurs.

Another that is full of fleece scraps. It's all nice and tidy during the day when mama cleans it up, and they enjoy tearing it all apart every single night. I do sprinkle treats throughout for them to forage...sunflower seeds, their Happy Glider kibble...other dry treats. Makes for easier clean up.

The plastic balls & toys go right into hot soapy water & the fleece strips get thrown in the washer right along with their pouches and such.

Check your local thrift stores for baby/kid toys - some gliders love ones that make sounds or light up or smaller toys on wheels that move around. It'll take some experimenting to figure out what types of toys your gliders enjoy most and sometimes you have to help them figure out what toys are for!

Gliders are also like little kids with their toys and get bored - so rotate them to give them variety. After a couple weeks of not having an old toy, bring it back out and it will be like new!

There isn't much extra room in Maya's cage for hanging toys. She has three shelves at different levels in her cage... should I take any of those out to make room for hanging a toy or would she rather have the shelf?

I have found my prefer the hanging toys so I took some shelving out of the big cage. It's nice to have to put the ball pit and hand toys from too. :)

To fill straws with honey or yogurt you just suck the stuff up into the straw then cut your straw into the size pieces you want.

Thanks for the ideas! I ended up buying baby rings like pictured above to use as chains. They are more colorful and textured and seem to work just as well. Pics coming soon!
