No, but why would you want to? As a treat? There are lots of healthy treats available, have a read through some older posts for ideas :)

I was told to feed mine a little bread with yogurt on it, but don't make it part of their meal, and don't do it often, because it fills them up.

Ok Helen, I have to ask why? Not being ignorant, really wanting to know cuz I make mine french toast every once in a great while.

Egg, a bit of water, then dip a piece of bread in and cook it. I drizzle it with Pure Maple Syrup. I do that to break up their regular diet so they don't get too much protein as I feed a lot of chicken & eggs.

Yeah me too I just did research and a lot of people feed their gliders bread on here. A lot of banana bread, cinnamon bread, and French bread. A vet told me it was ok but just don't do it a lot and a little yogurt every once in a while is actually good for them, so stick it on a little bread

What you do sounds fine. You're adding egg and syrup, it's counting somewhat towards their diet and is a 'treat'. I wouldn't feed plain dried bread. And the way the question was put across to me sounded asif it was something that would be done regularly, a few times a week.

I'd be wary about bloating them from feeding plain bread, but I may be wrong. It's just never something I'd fancy offering, unless I was doing something with it like mentioned above. I wouldn't just offer bread without knowing why I was feeding it. I sometimes give mine a few pieces of plain boiled wholemeal pasta maybe once a week, suppose thats similar. It's jsut the bloating I was wary about with the bread

Thanks for the clear up Helen.

I know PP tells people to offer it once in awhile because of the carbs, but I think most of us feed a fairly balanced diet so it's not a necessity.

I get the carb idea, thats why I offer pasta occasionally. Sometimes soaked oats. Is it right you should'nt offer dried oats for the reason they expand in the belly due to moisture? I've given the odd bran flake from time to time but bread is something I'd never really go for. If I did I'd definately opt wholemeal :)

Totally understand your concern Helen as far as the expanding in the belly thing.

I may be way off on this but using logic.... we're not supposed to throw rice at wedding as it expands in the gut of birds once eaten. Makes sense as it's raw, hits the stomach fluid, absorbs, expands....

I would think that with rice or oats, anything that expands when mixed with water, once mixed with said water and the expansion has taken place, it should be alright.

I did mix mine up some oatmeal with strawberries the other day. Hubby had made some and I snatched a scoop out. I let it soak and the gliders didn't eat it right away so it was as "absorbed" as it was gonna get. They liked it. Ate almost the entire large scoop I gave them.

Now I can't say whether or not it's good or bad for them but they had no bowel disruption or anything after eating it. Of course it isn't something I would offer a lot but as a now and then thing I think it's alright.

As with us, all things in moderation.

bread, especially wheat bread is very high in phosphorus -

Gliders stomachs are very small, about the size of the tip of your thumb. Why would you want to feed them something that will fill them up and reduce the amount of nutritious food the are able to eat?

People you have read about giving their gliders banana bread or cake etc are offering a small - maybe 1/4 teaspoon size piece as a treat.

Bread offers very little nutrition for gliders.

I am not intending to feed my glider with bread all the time I just wanted to know since i read that in older posts. So instead of questioning my answer like I want to make them live on bread, please just answer my question lol

Why would I want to feed my gliders with less nutritious food??.....

.......That was actually the whole point of my question! It aint good? then thanks to you guys thats all I wanted to know.

Sorry for the abrupt response
