Is it normal for a joey to not want to be in a pouch..Rocky sleeps if he is on us but awake inthe cage an makes a noise not all the but he does.....any ideas????

Is it the same joey that was acting oddly a week ago? Is he still with his parents?

No that was his twin......he eats n plays fine n he has a pouch n castle n he likes to sleep in his dinet lol

How old is the joey now? How long are you keeping him away from mom & dad?

The noise he is making may be his cry for his parents. If he is less that 5 or 6 weeks OOP he should be with mom or dad most of the time.

Does mom still let him nurse on a regular basis.

He will be 9 wks I just started him to be on his own...his twin just past away n he started to act a lil off so we pulled him out n gave hom more one on one n he is doing alot better n eats great n drinks fine n plays n as far as Sage his mom she stays more out of pouch when he was with mom n dad.....

If he is alone in a cage the change in his sleep behavior is probably due to no longer having mom and dad to follow into a pouch to sleep during the day. Be sure to add some small fleece squares to his sleeping pouch for additional warmth and to give him something to snuggle with.

His cries are probably trying to locate other gliders since he has been separated from his family.
