My joey is now 2 weeks and I was wondering if I can feed it the baby BML while it is still nursing? Or is the baby BML only for rejeted joeys?

If you detach the Joey and it can't reattach itself then you would have to feed it, if it comes off the nipple on it's own and can reattach you can try feeding it but they don't seem to start eating other food besides milk until 5-8 weeks oop normally it's around 6/7 but some are known to start earlier or later and they will try to eat what your feeding the parents and may either go back to milk after trying or will eat some of it

If the joey is nursing and mom is caring for him - you do not need to feed him anything.

Actually feeding a 2 week OOP joey will reduce the amount of milk he will be able to consume from mom - and if his nursing is reduced, her milk supply will also reduce and he will not get all of the nutrients he needs that are contained in the milk.

At about 5 or 6 weeks OOP the joey will follow the parents to the food dish and begin eating the same foods you offer the parents. Just offer a little more of all the foods you feed each night when you begin seeing the joeys at the food dish.

the joey is 2 weeks OOP and 17g so she is doing fine and one side of her mouth healed but the other side is the same. i got vetericyn vf that i have been putting on her wound so hopefully in the next few days i will see it get better. And thank you for the feedback!
