Hi!
I want to ask if there are ANY cases about gliders after castration, not wearing the e-collar and nothing happened?
I can't get the e-collar on my glider, and (of course) it fights back or run away.
Can anybody give any useful help fast?
And yes, i know the consequences of not having the e-collar on, but i mean, it can't be in any case that it gets infected?
Best regards
The worried owner from Denmark

I've actually watched videos of sugar gliders after the surgery and they wait to see if they will bug it or not, if they don't bug it you won't need it, if they do start to big it you will need it, did they do stitching? You don't want your sugar glider to take out the stitches and cause an infection. So if he is bugging it he needs one, you could possibly look on YouTube for easy ways to put it on or someone may answer you to give you a tip on how to put it on. Hope this helps!

I've watched the videos too, trust me!
I've done everything i could to hold them tight without over doing it.
My girlfriend was the one who took them to the vet, and she believes they've been stitched.
They have been licking a bit, but no scratching or over licking it!

But the main thing is that everyone comes with warnings and "this and this will happen if you do", so i want to know if there were cases about nothing happened without the e-collar. :)

From the videos I've seen every single one needed it, one woke up and wasn't bugging it so they thought he didn't need it but when the anestia was wearing off more he started licking it so they put a e collar on him, (all these videos I've seen are by Dr.Askew on YouTube) I've actually haven't seen any cases that don't need it but I'm sure there are cases out there, if you really don't want to then don't and keep a close eye on him, do you have him in a separate cage? (If you have more than one)

This is his page, he posts videos everyday (all types of animals) and I tend to look for the sugar glider cases (he posted one recently as you can see on the pic) if you go under playlist under marsupials you can go through the list and watch the after op videos to watch and see what he does

All I know is that both my boys recovered from neuter without using an E collar. I kept them in separate cages for about 5 days and saw no evidence that they were aware of their surgery.
