if its too big for me to move? i dont have someone here to help me lift it but its too big for me to lift on my own. and besides its too big to fit in my shower and i live where theres still tons and tons of snow on the ground outside..... but i need to clean it! how can i clean it well?

any methods that won't take hours or make my back hurt? any way that can guarantee that its super clean and glider safe?


i prefer not to use chemicals as i cannot get it in the shower or outside to hose it off.

i use the clorox green works wipes, and wipe with damp paper towel

yeah i have the same situation but i run a hand vacuum acors the bottom to pick up poo and thrown food, then i use vinegar and water to wipe down the rest of the cage. it works great at get everything loose and taken off and stink free once it dries.

I use 1 cup vinegar to 1 gallon of hot water, and a sturdy rag to scrub with. It's really quick and easy; there's no need to rinse and you don't even have to take the gliders out -- no toxic fumes. Vinegar loosens stuck-on stuff, disinfects and deodorizes. It's great!

Maybe get a srub brush instead of a rag, but I definitely suggest vinegar ^.^

if you have a steamer,this could also be used.

I used to do the clorox wipes (fresh scent only... anything else reacts badly to their urine and smells horrible) and then I would follow up with a wet rag to remove the residue, but then I decided to make life easier on myself and now and I do the vinegar and water solution and it works great. Yeah, okay, still not fond of the smell of vinegar, but once its diluted its not too bad, and it gets the job done.

I use steaming hot water (as hot as my hands can stand) and washcloth that we are not going to use anylonger and wipe down both the inside and outside of the cage bars, the bottom grate and take thier wheel out and clean it. The next week i will clean the climbing ropes, toys, etc. so I do not clean all of their scent off or they will just work to make it smell like home again. I may give the vinegar a shot next time and see if it helps with stuck on papaya, kiwi and mango, what a mess!

I use vinegar and water. Both are extremely cheap and no worries about chemicals that may be bad for them.
