I got my two little boys about 3 weeks ago as some of you already know. While I am making pretty good progress with both (I'm now able to pet them during tent time and they will eat from my hand), my youngest joey was originally the one most comfortable with me and now he feels as though he can crab and "attack" me whenever I go near him when he wakes up at night. Is this because he is mostly hungry and just wants to be left alone to eat or what? It's sad that I feel we've taken a step backwards instead of moving forwards. I know that bonding takes a long time it just is kind of discouraging to get this reaction from my little man.

just give him some time. try making a familiar sound when you approach his cage to let him know you are coming. Offer a treat each time you approach

Make a rapid clicking sound with your tongue when you get close to the cage. This is a sound they make to welcome each other, you may notice if one's in the pouch and another wants to come in they'll often make the click-hiss-honk. We can't make the exact same sound, but my boys seem to understand my "Pidgen Glider" and appreciate it. (I also do the hiss tolerably well, but can't get the honk.)
