Hi, RyanLG just contacted me and has the PERFECT adoptable baby and a larger cage since I am increasing my colony!!! Only problem is she is in Sacramento, CA and I am just West of Cleveland, OH in Sheffield Lake, OH. Does anyone have any ideas about how we can get little LG from there to here? I would greatly appreciate it!!! Thank you!! Becky 440-213-3340

UPDATE: I found 3 sites so far: one is defunct and of course its the railroad site, another is "full" and removed its contact information, the third is a rescue/sanctuary and would have to neuter my little guy in order for me to get him--which defeats the purpose. Thanks though...

You may have difficulty getting someone to transport the glider OUT of California since gliders are illegal there. You will not have many available volunteers for the first part of the trip because there are not many glider owners - and those that do have gliders are not responding because they need to protect their own gliders.

One caution with forming a railroad for gliders. I strongly recommend that you personally speak to EVERY DRIVER that will be transporting the glider. Make sure you have full contact information - email, cell phone numbers etc. and share the information with the other drivers - so that the drivers can communicate with each other.

Gliders have been lost on disorganized Railroads. All it takes is ONE unreliable person to pick up the glider and disappear with him instead of meeting with the next individual scheduled to take the glider a bit further on his way.

I think you mean Santa Barbara? as Ryan stated that's where he lives. Santa Barbara is down south whereas Sacramento is more central/northern.
I don't mean to be a downer, but I don't foresee this working out as it is just too far of a distance and would require too many drivers. I live in California and there really aren't many of us here that frequent the forum. For awhile I was the only owner in California that frequented. Perhaps you should just look into rescuing gliders to expand your colony. There are so many out there in need of homes. Either way, good luck.

I was thinking now would be the best chance of arranging a railroad if anyone from out west is heading to the Ohio glider gathering.

It's definitely risky as Candy pointed out.

Wishing "LG" luck in where ever he goes!
