I had two male sugar gliders, Bo and Gus-Gus, and a few months ago Gus-Gus passed away... He had something wrong with him from the day I got him and I managed to keep him for 4 years with help from family and force-feeding when he would lose weight. But now Bo no longer has a friend, because of that I have spent plenty of one-on-one time with him and was trying to avoid getting another glider but am willing to do so if he needs a friend again.

About a week ago I noticed that right beside the scent spot on his head he has developed two additional bald spots. The only thing that has changed in his life is that his friend is gone and he has been coming with me in his pouch more often. Is this over-grooming due to stress or could this be a medical concern? I am struggling to find a reliable veterinarian so I thought I would come here first for help...

he is most likley depressed. poor little guy! it must be hard on him, loosing his buddy and all:( I'm so sorry for your loss of Gus-Gus.

to keep your other guy happy, make sure he has PLENTLY of mind stimulating activities at night to keep his brain moving. spend as much time as possible with him, try to bra train him so you can take him everywhere with you:)

I take him with me most places but I'm wondering if I should get him a friend. He loved Gus-Gus and attached to him within 2 minutes. So I'm not sure how likely he is to connect to another glider...? I've only ever had two gliders and I know pairing up gliders can either go really well or horribly...
