So I have a couple of questions on Neutering and just hoping someone can shed some light for me lol

First question is should I wait until my glider is bonded to me before getting him neutered or would it be best to just take him in right away and then start the bonding process?

Second question, in your experience what is best to have the poms removed or leave them alone?

Third question, after the surgery should I keep my glider in the bonding pouch with me or should I just put him in a cage on his own and keep an eye on him?

From my experience, I can only answer one of your questions.

Recommended that you get your guy neutered asap after he's old enough, doesn't matter if bonded or not. Neuter may help with personality too, calming him down.

As for the other questions, it's best I let others with experience answer those.

Personally I prefer Laser pom off, I feel it heals faster with less likelihood of complications or issues.

Having said that, not all vets give you a choice, nor have the equipment to do laser pom off. You will need to ask which type of neuter the vet does if it's traditional pom on and you want laser pom off keep calling vets until you find one that does the method you want.

You can keep the glider in the bonding bag for a while if you want, or put him in the cage and monitor him really that is up to you and how the glider does in bonding bags.

Some vets will require the glider gets no food after midnight and that you bring a apple slice for after the procedure so make sure to ask if they don't just tell you the pre op specifications.

It really doesn't matter when you get it done in my experience. Only thing that makes a difference is if he's living with a female. In the case get it done before puberty.

I recommend keeping him in a bonding pouch and watching him. I've has three gliders neutered. Two were fine. No problems. But one licked off the glue, had to get stitches, and would pick on the stitches. Only time he's ever bitten and broken skin was when I stopped him from picking.

After about two days he was fine and stopped picking.
