Normally I would say just do your thing to change sleeping pouch, BUT I don't
do joeys and that could be a totally different story.
every glider is different, I have had my current 6 glider colony for awhile.
glider 1, 2 , and 3 are very friendly, come to me, walk on me, and are not scared.
glider 4 is slightly scared, will come around but not always walk on me, he
won't bite and I can pick him up, but sometimes he runs. at night sitting
cross legged he climbs in legs and naps with glider 5 and 3.
glider 5 runs from me, mostly doesn't bite but comes for treats, I have to
work hard to pick him up so I usually don't pick him up, but he will nap in my
legs at night for as long as I stay in the room, I will put my hands on him and
he will grab a finger and hold it while he sleeps.
glider 6 is hard core, stays in cage while I visit at night, comes for treats and
will get nice for that mealworm, then run. she runs away from me constantly, I
have to work hard or trick her to grab her, she will give me a small nip when I grab
her but its very small bite, she will never settle down in bonding pouch just tries
to eat her way out.
I dont clean glider sleeping pouch to often, they have 2 or more and they always
pick the dirty one that is their favorite. I would say give them a clean pouch and
see if they move, if they do, that gives you the chance to take out dirty one.
gliders normally spend lots of time in the pouch, all day, lots of time at night. after about an hour with me at night 3 will go back to pouch and 3 will
be sleeping in my legs, sometimes one stays out exploring the room.
so you will need to bond with EACH glider, they don't share the info that the
big scary human is safe, you need to build that trust individually.
