My roommate got a new yorki/dachshund mix puppy. We tried to introduce our sugar glider (2 year old female we have had since she was a baby). The puppy was terrified of her and Margo (our sugar baby) looked at the puppy but didnt seem too bothered. (we kept margo in her carrying case on the ground).
However, we have tried numerous times to bond the two without success over the last 2 months. Everytime margo sees the puppy she runs very fast on her wheel or sits frozen in place. she even refuses to eat fish sticks (which she usually snatches from my hand).
she doenst want to leave her cage and has stopped any playful behavior. She is only running on her wheel during play hours.
what can we do to get her not so frightened of the puppy?
