Hi i bought 2 male sugar gliders not to long ago and could never really get them to bond with me, they bite a lot and im not sure what to do, any tips

Hi I just bought two male sugargliders, one has a hurt leg and the other looks almost like the tail was trimmed, when i asked about the tail the women i bought them from said the parent has a short tail and its genetic,is this true?
