 Two males and two females

Posted by: Mandaimiss

I have two male sugar gliders that are only a few months old, and I just got two females off craigslist. If I neuter one of the males will they be able to live together? They aren't mature yet so hopefully they'll get along for a while.

 Nuetering

I know there has to be a young age lemit of nuetering, but my sugar glider is 3 and a half years old. He use to breed for us but now we just have him in a cage with his brothers. One is lusistic, and the other is a regular gray standard. The lusistic one is blind so my brother has a lot of a heavier bond with him than any of the others. So snowball ( the lusistic one ) is just fine, we might even breed him. But mine - chipper and his twin brother - rockey need nuetering or atleast rockey! He killed my baby and scratched another one in the eye, not snowball he was born blind:(. But I am still holding a grudge on him it's hard to lose a rejected baby who was killed by his uncle:(((((. But after explaining all that I Juat need to know if I can get him nuetered at 3 and a half years old?

 Pain medicine for my baby.

Hello everyone!
I am new to Glider gossip and a new glider owner. Me and my glider have been doing very well together and I absolutely love him to death and we seem to be bonding perfectly! My baby is about 16 weeks OOP and he has recently gone through some changes, his scent gland on the top of his head has started to make his "bald spot" appear. It is also visible that he could be neutered without having to go into the abdomen (if you know what I mean).

My vet is awesome and she has some experience with sugar glider neuters but the vet clinic usually gives their gliders Metacam, which is a pain medicine, probably out of habit. I would be fine with this but I have recently read that Metacam can be very harmful to my baby. I don't know of any other pain medication that I could recommend but I really don't want to use Metacam. Any input that anyone has or any neuter experiences with what pain meds you used would be greatly appreciated!

I FINALLY finished modifying the parrot cage we had and put the baby in last night! I finished just as she was waking up so I moved everything in and got her in. At first she was like "what? this isn't my cage..." but I turned the lights off and in no time she was exploring. Which was awesome. And I fed her and she was pretty good with eating. She ate all her bml and grapes but left her green beans alone (but hey she ate! )

I'm planning on getting her some more toys and now that I have two cages soon she will have a buddy!! So yay to progress!

 she is obsessed.

I made my baby Totes Ma Goats a ball pit thinking she would like it.

I was wrong.

She LOVES IT.

I'm not kidding guys. Like she plays in it, sleeps in it (and I'm pretty sure she has a stock pile of food in there too)

Like sometimes she doesn't even want to come out of her cage to play. I go in to take her out and her little head will slowly rise out of the pompoms, look at you, and then slowly go back down and goes back to playing.

Alright fine Totes I didn't wanna play with you either xD

 Canadian Glider family Introduction.

I'm emberassed it took me so long to make an account considering how much I scoured it before our first glider arrived.

I'm a local glider obsessed gal from NB. Always had a fascination in the creatures and while taking some uni courses, had the privilege of playing with one..I was hooked instantly but though I'm a hugeee animal lover, I'm a very responsible one. Fast forward a few years, I had someone contact me about rehoming a glider since they just didn't have the time with their growing children, I knew this was more of a commitment then just saying "yes" as they thrive as colonial animals...and he was alone and in a hamster cage. He looked 'ok' but had nearly no muscle mass and couldn't glide..just hop.

So, first thing was first, I ordered 'Ozzy' the largest repatrium I could afford (6'x3'x2' if I'm not mistaken) and arranged his neuter a few months down the road so we could bond first, ordered some sumpliments, gliderade etc.. He was very very very bitey at first. To the point I almost began to second guess if he would come around (I'm terribly good with animals but he just couldn't be bothered).. After about three weeks of nonstop nips, a whole lots of lip bitting and trying not to react and pull away, it seemed to stop over night. Truly. I've had him since November now and I can easily say I don't remember being bit once even through December. I met a wonderful lady (paramedic actually, and always had them with her in a pouch under the shirt at work for bonding/socializing) who had a female Joey for sale (Belle..the sweetest little cleopatra face you could ever imagine).

I arranged the pick up for Belle as we brought ozzy for his neuter (pouch off) at the end of January.. he was in, out and comepletely alert within 45 mins!!!!!!!!! Up to this point he had only played during the night in his big cage (I wanted to acclimate him to everything slowly, without overwhelming him..since I knew the BIG changes that were headed his way :).....) I had honestly planned on keeping them separate for a week, while he fixed up from his neuter..but things never go as you plan them lol. When we arrived home the first day with Belle, Ozzy had a glimpse of her through his carrier and went W.I.L.D.. I Had never seen the quiet little thing ever react so strongly to anything, so in my head...Im telling you, it was as if his neuter didn't even happen. He was on pain meds but still, from the time we picked him up it was like he was already healed! The Incession was prestine! Near nonexistent...but still, I mean..six hours earlier he had his manhood...you think that would have downplayed his reaction to seeing his First Lady? Lol nope.. With how crazy he raced around and barked and clicked, it wasn't going to be a week till they were together, it would be weeks..months maybe...but that was fine!

That night I had been mixing gliderade to dilute his meds and little belle was sleeping in a pouch beneath my shirt. I thought I had zipped it shut completly but I must not had.
I removed Oz from his cage and he sat on my shirt, took his meds and then.....he began sniffing at my shirt,,,at belle. And belle started sniffing back. Before I could even put the syringe down she had popped her head out from my shirt, ozz froze stiff. SHE ran down to him, grabbed his cheek and smeared herself all along his body (while he sat there with a grin, I swear) and she climbed up on his back, he went under my shirt in the pouch...and voila.

Best friends since.

Today marks the seven day countdown until I bring my new babies home. I have a severe case of "glider-itis" where I've been buying everything I see for these little babies. Zero (like the nightmare before Christmas) is a three year old leucistic and Lotus (Greek word meaning Flower) is a three year old standard grey. I already am in love!

 New Owner

I am a new owner of two 1 year old gliders.I had them for about a month now. They are both males, Rex and Spudnick. They will only put one or two paws on me but still will not crawl on me. When I take them out at 7 pm they curl up in my hoddie and crawl around a little bit. I tried to play with them in a room. But they are still too shy. I added new shelves and toys in their cage yesterday. And they did not even want to come out. They wanted to stay in their cage to look at all their new stuff. It was so cute. I play with them alittle bit with a feather. But they lost interest me and started to play with the easter eggs.
