Hello guys!!!

I go to pick my joey up on Sat. and I am very excited. I can't get his cage mate until the following week. However, the little guy is 3 months oop and the ride to get him is 3hrs long. So I was wondering what I can do in order to keep him happy on the way home. Bonding Pouch on myself, Bonding Pouch in a pet carrier? The lady selling him to me says that "he can be a little turd" lol I'm not quite sure what that entails however she did mention that he likes to nip alot.

I was also wondering about the use of real dried grapevines in the cage.

Any advice would be helpful and greatly appriciated!!

Thank you

I'd suggest the bonding pouch around your neck to the side.

Actually, having a glider in a bonding pouch in the car is dangerous and not advisable. If you are sitting in the front seat, and the airbag comes open, it will crush your glider. If you have an accident, your glider can get away from you.

I would suggest getting a Day Tripper for car rides. They are small and a pouch fits in the perfectly. The glider can come out of the pouch and look around if they want. And they can be seat belted so they dont move in case of an accident.

You can get a Day Tripper from Attix Worx - the home of the Stealth.

If it's during the day, just leave him be, he'll sleep the whole way probably!

I brought mine home (2 hr. car ride) in a pouch inside a soft cat carrier. It was a good thing too. they managed to get out of the pouches and ran around in the cat bag. Eventually they settled down and went to sleep only crabbing when we hit a bump or turned a corner. It was a very crazy ride.

Thank you guys! I found a sugar glider traveler that I bought and I think it will work well. I had never really given much thought to the air bag but thank you for the heads up.

Now what about this grapevine thing? Sorry to ask so many questions but I want to make sure that my glider is as happy as can be in his new home!!!

Grapevines and leaves are not toxic. However, before you use them in your new glider's cage, you need to know: Did you grow the grapevine and dry it yourself? If not, what's the source? If it was bought at a craft shop or department store, then it may have been treated with a preservative. There's a good chance he'll instinctively chew on the vine; even if he doesn't, anything on the surface could transfer to his paws. Since gliders groom and eat using their front paws as hands, you want to avoid anything that's not all-natural and non-toxic. But if it is, I bet he'll enjoy playing on it!
