So as some of you know i have Chip, my rescue love. <3

i have been searching high and low for a friend for him, I found a few but they gave me the run around and ended up selling them for more than I could afford.

I finally found a woman who had a snuggies for sell that she bought from her daughter who didnt take care of them... after a few emails and calls she we set up a date to meet and greet and for me to buy one of the snuggies that needed the most attn. the others were more bonded to each other.. im not sure of the whole story, but anyway,
she ends up emailing me late and tells me that she left the cage door open and he got out!

and that she thought he might be in the recliner or in the laundry room!!!!!

So I start to panic for the little guy, and she quickly says that if she cant find him then she would assume hes dead and that I would have to find someone else to buy from...

WHAT??!!!

Buy from... like a dealer? or a farm??? what?!!! and what about the snuggie..??

I tried emailing her and got responses that the email was not real.. or not anymore.. that it could not be delivered.

a few days latter im on craigslist i see a post for snuggies for sale with a similar story about how this MAN has snuggies he bought from his SON who wasnt treating them right...


So i got pissed and flagged their ass and reported them... so far I have yet to see another post for sugar gliders in my area...


I just wanted to rant and keep you up to date on Chip.

Right now hes getting fat.. lol (too many mealies. )

But he has tons of toys and I play with him a lot a lot. He dosent seem to be depressed and is very active, he had a check up and other than being a lil over weight and one occasion of being dehydrated (the elect. went out for a few days and his fruit went bad and the pipes were frozen.) he was in good health. right now he is on a mealie restriction, but has plenty of fresh veggies and fruits to keep him happy. not to mention TWO BARREL OF MONKEYS!!! yes I FOUND THEM *or my mom found them* he has one red and one green set!!!! he loves them lol, almost as much as his castle sorter I bought off craigslist for 1.00.. I love bargains lol..


But for people who try and scam me... No I do not love that....

I am so glad to hear that your chubby monkey is doing well! I also hate scammers and I really just don't understand why someone would do it. For the poops and giggles? I am so sorry this happened, but hopefully things will work out! Where do you live? Maybe I can try a shot at searching the internet to help. I know people like Goldwinger really helped when I was searching for a sister for my one glider.

There are some people who just shouldnt have animals of any kind. Its so sad when an animals life is not valued.

I hope you find a friend for chip soon. So sorry you are getting a run around.

I live in Richmond KY. I work in Lexington and I am willing to drive just about anywhere in the surrounding area...

Ive also prepared myself for the worst case sanario.. If I can not find him a friend within a reasonable amount of time... I am going to give him up to a friend *whom i trust and know personally.* who has a glider colony who lives a few hours away.

I may be a 21 year old naive girl at times, but I am not an idiot nor do I have the capacity to purposefully harm my snuggie...

She has agreed to take him for his own well being if I can not provide the fuzzy love he needs.

But yes Scammers are evil beings and Its just not fair.

Awww... I don't think you need to give him up. Sometimes it takes time to find just the right one. I firmly believe in everything happening for a reason.
MAYBE the reason for this is because the suggies this person possibly has are extremely ill, and maybe this person saw how informed and dedicated you are the suggies in general and freaked out.

You'll find a friend for your baby. Time is all it takes.

Oh my gosh, that is a very cute title for the posting. I will search all day today and hopefully with a few of us out there looking we will find him a buddy. Don't give upon him just yet. You said that you spend lots of time with him and that he is active and seems happy, so until that changes I wouldn't go crazy thinking about giving him away. The good news is that you do have a backup plan should he become depressed! I'll let you know if I find any suggies!

Hi Leandra. Sure have missed you. I posted a thread for you about this on TSS. Hopefully someone will get back to me and I can help. Everyone will do their best I'm sure to help your little Chip. Tell him we're trying.

BTW is he neutered? Wanted to ask just in case I'm asked.

Edited to add: I was asked about whether he was neutered or not. Not sure what to assume but you said Platonic friend. Wasn't sure if that meant he was neutered or not.

44rainclouds I live in ohio but i have a friend who lives in Bowling green ky and i know that on the weekends.. they have whats called flee land and i know for a fact that they have suggies there from a breeder. my friend has gotten a few from them and they are very healthy. the owners or sugarglidersrus.com and maybe you should look into them :)

One of the things I always try to do is steer people in the direction of the rescue orginizations. I know Luckyglider is in Vegas but not sure if they railroad. Also Val/Something_to_believe_in is located in Texas and just rescued many gliders from the Arlington raid. She has other gliders availiable as well.

Since you rescued Chip it would be wonderful to find a glider in a current rescue home and give him/her a forever home with Chip.

Please call her as she did respond to my question of what you could do and I always knew that anyway. I just never know how close anyone is to anyone else.

yes he is neutered and I will try Val. I live in KY so Im not sure how snuggies in TX could get here safely and in a good state of mind. The lady who had Chip when he was rescued has since retired and moved to florida to be near her family.

Hope that answered all the questions... Im still angry for the Craigslist Flagging...

Sugarglidersrus is a MILL BREEDER -- NOT where you want to get them from!

Leandra, Val has many contacts and they do awesome railroads. Please give her a call. She is great and you'll like her. Most people here can vouch for her.
