Should I Split It?
Should I Split It?

So my girls only eat about half of what I give them, IF that. The vet said this could very well be due to the fact that they're still babies.
I give them a cube of veggie relish and a cube of the fruit smoothie and then BML.
I feel like I'm wasting, which, really.... I am.

So should I just split the cubes in half?
Half cube veggie relish, half cube fruit smoothie? Then as they get bigger/older and have larger appetites switch back to an entire cube? I hate wasting so much when fruits and veggies aren't even cheap to come by as it is.

You could make your relishes this way to make it easy. When you make your fruit and veggie relishes fill half of one each cube with fruit relish and the other half of the same cube with veggie relish. This way it's split already in one cube. I make mine this way sometimes. Looks pretty neat with colored cubes half fruit and veggie. Continue to feed one whole cube BML as the proper protein, fruit and veggie is 50% protein, 25% fruit and 25% veggie.

I'll try that next time I make the 'meals'.
Meantime I think I will go ahead and cut the cubes in half.
And of course they ALWAYS get the right percentages. I'm such a stickler with that.

What is in your veggie relish and fruit smoothie?
I ask only because BML is quite specific on what you can feed... (NOTE on that as one thing wasn't clear on the webpage: I did receive a note earlier today from Bourbon stating that Honeydew melon is okay -- if you note on her diet page, it says "melon" separately.. it is referring to honey dew.)

I have also heard that you can decrease the amount of BML (and fruits and veggies) being fed if your gliders do not eat it all, as some gliders might eat as little as 1/3rd of it, whereas others will eat the entire thing. Decrease evenly.

I like the idea of combining the two into one cube... Not exactly blended together but one on one side and one on the other. Interesting idea. Especially if you have youngsters who won't eat as much as an older glider.

Exactly, not blending them together but placing one item first and then the other on top. Almost like a pie, filling on the bottom and the whipped creme on top kind of thing. They freeze that way and when you remove them they are one cube but seperate really well when defrosted or you can mix them together after defrosting.

Megs, on BML those relishes and smoothies should not be fed.
