So i noticed Kira's pouch was protruding today. I couldn't really find anything about this....or i just suck at finding things but should i be concerned?
sorry about the quality, Kira is a little squirmy.
As far as I know, this is nothing to be concerned about. They have the ability to tighten or let their pouch hang lose. Males are the same way with their scrotal sack. My female often lets her pouch relax and losen as well.
I had the same thing happen to my glider, I freaked but turned out she had just pulled her pouch out to clean it and didn't push it all the way back in lol. The vet checked her out and said that if it didn't go back in in a couple days then come back. If it looks red and infected then I would worry otherwise I wouldn't worry
Agreed. After they've had joeys or groomed, their pouch can look a little inverted. Unless it looks discolored (as mentioned),or has a discharge or smells unusual, it should correct itself.
I too had this happen to one of my girls. I worried about it for about 2 days hoping she would put it back in but she did not. I took her the vet and she said it was no big deal and took a q-tip and gently put it back in. A couple of days later she pulled it out again so I just pushed it back with no problem.
