Haha, funny story...
Well, Nia & Quinn were given to me as planned on Sunday. They look healthy except that Nia is definitly overweight and Quinn's wound is mostly healled (basically just needs to regrow hair in that area). I'll make a vet appointment for either today or tomorrow.
So after their old owner left, I started to set them up in my 'travel cage' (18x18x30) (figgured since it was temporary & they'd get a lot of out of cage time so it'd be ok). They quickly went into the pouch I provided (happy with the yoggies I gave them) with only a little fuss.
They were settled down so I turned away to sort through the toys & pouches that their previous owner gave me with their cage door open (smack hand). I'm almost done going through the two large grocery bags full of accessories when I hear some crabbing. I turn around. Guess who had figgured away out of his cage & came to investigate in the middle of the friggin day!
Note: Fritz's cage was in the other room and far apart from the 'quarantein cage.
Fritz was in the pouch and some rough housing (nothing serious) was going on. I broke it up.
At that point I figgured that if they're sick, Fritz was already exposed and there wasn't much I could do about it. So, I decided to go ahead with introductins in my dry tub (neutral territory). Things went well, Fritz only tried to start a few fights (yes, I said Fritz - my little 8mo oop glider, lol - the other two just wanted to find a place to sleep).
After probably an hour of scampering around, investigating, a few tustles, & some fussing they crawled into my shirt to sleep. After a few moments of me listening to see if another fight broke out, I figgured this would be a good time to put all 3 into the main cage. So I put them there with 2 pouches to choose from. They all chose the same one.
I also put a 2nd kitchen in their just in case. And I put in clean toys from Nia's & Quinn's old home to help them feel more comfortable.
There was minimall fussing for the rest of the day & last night. I spotted Quinn grooming Fritz (Fritz was like 'get off me man!' lol) so that's a good sign. Nia & Quinn both groomed me a bit (I'd put my hand in with them if the fussing got a little too much). :D
Nia hogged the wheel basically all night (the stealth wheel needed a GOOD clean before I'd put it into their cage) which I was glad because I'm trying to figgure out ways to help her loose some of that excess weight. Now the boys are sleeping in one pouch while Nia is sleeping alone in the 2nd pouch. Also, during the night's play time I often witnessed them all in the coconut hut (picture above) at the same time.
So, thankfully things worked out despite my mistake. lol If there's anything wrong with Nia's & Quinn's checkup, I'll bring Fritz in again pronto as earlier is always best. :D
One thing I did notice is that they hardly touched their food last night, though they drank a lot of water. I'm guessing that's because of the stress. (Both Nia & Quinn were fed HPW before they came me so that's not any added stress for them.)
I'll get pictures of all three soon! :D
