Yesterday I got my first sugar glider pair. Gizmo and Milo both 2 years old. The lady I got them from could no longer care for them and gave them to me. They are super sweet and each have cute little habits I noticed already. I know it takes some time for them to bond to you but Gizmo was all about me petting him and Milo loves his treats. I put a little drop of honey on my finger and both went for it. I was expecting to wait another day for them to get use to me. That was enough to make my busy day well worth it. My dog pikachu is fascinated by them and so are two out of my four cats. They love to rub their sides on the cage while the sugar glider is there. I'll post pictures later tonight.

It is really not safe to have other animals by the glider's. Do you have another room you can put the glider's in that the cat and dog won't be able to get in?

Cat saliva can be deadly to a glider and it only takes one nail to cause a terrible injury to a glider. Please separate your animals! Gliders can also get very stressed out by other animals because sugar gliders are prey to dogs and cats and that stress (on top of the stress already of moving to a new house) can be serious to a glider.
I cannot even begin to tell you how many terrible accidents have happened with dogs and cats that "would never hurt a fly" but a jumping glider is too much temptation for them.
Again...PLEASE separate the animals!

I confess, my dog has run of the (very small house) I live in. She and gliders have sniffed between the bars, both sides being as curious as the other. I've had my dog with my little dragon out, she is good with him, and she has been introduced with scrutinizing supervision on several occasions to the gliders. We do a brief meet & greet, nothing long and have no trouble trusting her, she looses interests in them very quickly. Now, I wouldn't allow gliders out & about unsupervised anyway, but I figured, with the understanding of each other, if the gliders ever got loose, they'd have a better chance if my dog knew them and that they're part of the pack. I understand some disprove all contact with other pets, but I don't agree totally with that, I feel with discretion and supervision, and the knowledge of your pets it can be possible that some pets can and are ok with gliders. It has been my experience and also from other sources where some other pets take on a protective and nurturing behavior with other smaller pets.

Welcome to GG!! Its sounds like you've got a great pair of Gliders. That's really encouraging that they're taking to you so quickly!

Thank you all for your concern,I have prepared everyday for two years before i got my two little boys. I do know the risk im taking having the other animals around, and to put some of you at ease all the animals at night go to seperate rooms than the gliders. If the boys just so happened to escape all rooms are glider proof to prevent them from going out of their room and into the others room, theres locks on the cage and i've triple checked for any ecape holes. ( also have an emergency kit just in case/ 24 hr hospital 10min away)
