PEACH

Little Miss Peach came to me on Saturday. Her first owner bred her and only fed her hot dogs and yogurt Then her previous owner put her with an intact male where she aborted two joeys and suffered from a pouch infection. She recently lost her cagemate and was suffering from severe depression, not eating or anything.

She was brought to me in hopes of getting her better and being a good older sister to Lulu and Echo! Since she has been with me she has been eating like a little piggy, we did ten time last night and she was already jumping on and off of me!

You can see stress in her little face but she is so great! Vet appointment is tomorrow!

The vet gave us the all clear to start pouch swapping and introductions. And I found out that according to her records (previous owner took her to the same vet) Peach is 5 years old! Old Lady!

And she gave the Vet and Assistant a run for their money with her escape attempts

I had a fecal done and she will call if anything comes back positive so no news is good news!

Thanks Everyone for your kind words! I have an update if anyone is interested!
Peach is doing very well. Her cage is now next to the big cage, so the three spend a lot of time communicating and watching each other! Whenever they get the chance they try to get to each other. I have a fantastic double bonding pouch so I can wear all three at the same time with no direct contact!I have a brand new cage set and I'm working on new toys. I think I will be doing introductions not this weekend but next when everything is ready!

I noticed that! Her previous owner had a Mario Kart theme so she is Peach and her cagemate was Mario! lol I considered changing her name but I thought that would be wrong lol

My first glider was fed applesauce till I got her...how hard is it to look on the net and find out what they need to eat.....at least fruits veggies and protein...I personally use original hpw....but I swear I see these people telling people on facebook when they r trying to sell a glider they r tired of that they live in a box and eat pellets and an apple

That is awesome...thanks for sharing the video!

I didn't even think to record it or take pictures when I introduced our 3.

I was so nervous about any fights breaking out I was totally focused on their body language. Plus I was in the bathroom by myself with them, would have been good to have an extra person or two for that.

I was lucky to have my best friend (who also owns gliders) and my bf all squeezed into our bathroom I was so waiting for a fight that they kept having to tell me to relax!

Fun Fact: After this my bf carried our 5 foot tall PVC cage up to that same bathtub so I could scrub it down

I love happy stories of rescues! So awesome. I've read both scenarios and was so heart broken when my little guy couldn't pull out from the horrible diet and conditions after two years. Gosh, your little girl is 5 years old and is a champ after all she's been through! Congrats to both of you!!!

Finally finished the cage! It has a brand new cage set, new toys, and new big pouches! I even scrubbed out the wheel and added new sandpaper to nail filing! I added another water bottle and I think I will up it to two feeding areas. I'm so excited to see them wake up and explore!

I seriously cannot wait until they wake up!!

I am really impressed, it looks great!!!!!!!! GOOD JOB!!!!!!!

I really like your cage and the way your toys are set up, and the toys are nice too. They will absolutely love it.

I have a question about these homemade cages, because they are very cool that you can make them so big. How easy are they to keep clean are they harder than a metal cage or easier to clean? Like I live in Michigan and it is not like I can take it outside and hose it down in the middle of our artic freeze right now.

Honestly, I love it but it is super hard to clean. I live in an apartment so I can't take it outside either. If I could take it outside to hose down Then it would be absolutely perfect. I had spent a lot of money on the wrong items when I first got gliders, so this was good for me then. I am actually saving up for the Congo cage. But if I ever move into my own house I would probably build another one that is bigger, maybe the kind you can walk into lol

I was just curious because we have a metal cage and it is very easy to clean, I just would like it be bigger. I think no matter how big you get you still would like it to be bigger!!! Spoiled little gliders they are.

It's me again! I haven't gotten a picture with all three, but here is Peach in her sleeping pouch with the other two girls.

They slept in the same pouch for the first 2 or 3 nights. But now I have a question...

All week they have been sleeping apart, and Peach seems to be hissing at Lulu and Echo often. For example, this morning everyone was brought into the tent for tent time (Peach got woken up but started running around). Every time she came into contact with Lulu or Echo she hiss-barked at them. Then I tried to pet her and she softly bit me, then went back to sleep. Then if all three are in the pouch together there is always hiss-barking and bickering. And I never see them all together in a hammock or toy or anything.

Is this normal?
