Ive had my glider for about a little over a month now he is a baby still but i feel like we have made no progress for bonding. I can take him out with almost no crabbing and he will sit on me for a minute then run away. I dont know what else to do.

I have 2 gliders. One I have had for 6 months the other I rescued (I'm his 3rd home and I have had him for 3 weeks now)

My female I have had for 6 months does that. She will climb on me and then run off. She just loves to explore so much! But she comes back to me every now and again to make sure I'm still there and climbs on me just to glide back to the floor and run off again

The male I rescued stays on me for dear life. He is a huge cuddler and would rather me walk around my room so he can look around and explore that way.

Sugar gliders are all different. Some like to explore and play while other's would rather stay on their owner (or close to) while out.

You've also only had your glider for a little over a month. There is still lots of bonding to do. Just show him love and give him treats and just take things slowly. You might not realize that he is bonding with you but he is!

If you want you can sleep with fleece strips for a couple of nights and then put the strips in his cage so he knows your scent. Also just sitting on the ground while he is out running around is a good idea. He will come over to see you and if you just sit there he might climb on you more.

But the key is to take things slow and show lots of love and you guys will be bonded! Hope this helps!

What about when he is sleeping does the bonding pouch help too if i keep him on me all the time because most of the time i cant take him out while he is awake because he will run away from me but while he is supposed to be sleeping i can take him out and make him fall asleep on me.

The bonding pouch does help. And if you are just sitting around and watching tv or are at a desk doing working that would be a good thing to do.

Also do you have a glider proof room? I have my bed room glider proofed. They can't slip under any doors or crawl into any vents. Some people have their bathroooms glider proofed (by covering the toilet with a towel and plugging all drains so Gliders can't crawl into them. (and also putting a towel at the bottom of the door so they can't crawl under and escape)

If you do not have a glider safe play room you could get a pop up mesh tent to play with your glider in. That way he won't run away and you both can be inside and bond with one another.

I usually use my bathtub its big enough where he can run around but he cant get into any trouble but if it would be better to glider proof my bathroom then thats what i will do.
