Pretty sure Taz is constipated. He has been hissing and I have been able finally tell that it's when he poops.

Now his pools are very small and hard. I tried a drop of olive oil and some water melon.

Any other suggestions? He was at the vets not to long ago and she put him under for an xray and expressed his anal glands, which I don't know if that was the right thing to do.

I am currently trying to find a different vet, as I do no like this woman.

I have heard of pumpkin... Was olive oil okay to give?

olive oil, veg oil, mineral oil are ok but just a drop or two. I've read that pumpkin helps but to me it seems like that would help more with runny poo because it's fibrous. Watermelons, maybe some coconut water would help as well don't wait to long to get him to a different vet, if he has blockage home remedies may not help. I hope he feels better soon

Thanks Leela.

I have him a drop of olive oil yesterday and some watermelon as fruit last night. He was on me this morning and pooped on my shoulder. (lovely). Still small but no hissing and it was softer.

I may give him a little bit more and see how that goes.

And I am trying to find another vet as we speak. It's so hard cause there aren't any reviews. I guess I will just have to make an appt and see how it goes. It's just scary if they aren't experienced and say they are, kinda like the first vet I went to. Who only sees exotics. Sheesh

Have you heard of them expressing anal glands in sugar gliders before?

For constipation my vet recommended the fur ball medicine that you give cats when they are having problems. The malt flavored one, not the fish flavored one. It seems to work really well. The first time I gave it to my little girl, she loved it and licked it right up. After that, she didn't like it so much so I had to put a little bit just above her nose so she would clean it off and eat it. It works really well and is worth the trouble to get them to eat it.

Oh, thank you. I will look into that. :)

Did you have to give it to her more than once?
