Wild sugar glider habitat's vary in Australia with the regions and climates.

Here in Victoria, sugar gliders live also within different regions including temperate rainforests,dryer bushland and sub-alpine regions.
I used to live in some of these areas and late last year, I revisited one of my favourite spots which is also one of the few homes to the dwindling Leadbetter's Possum population. This is virtually sub-alpine with snow covering these areas on occasion.

I share with you a couple of photos I took on this visit. The gliders and possums live in a very scenic spot.

Those pictures remind me of the northwest united states, in the Portland, Oregon and northern California areas.

Well there are temperate rainforests in USA too and I reckon if you check(it's 6.30am here and I'm still too sleepy to google or wiki), they may possibly be the areas you mention. The two photos I have posted are of a tiny beech forest right in the middle of the bush in a hollow surrounded by majestic gum trees and tree ferns. This is atypical of temperate rainforests having decidious trees as well. Yet this area is also sub-alpine as it's at the base of a mountain range which is a popular cross country ski/recreational snow resort. I just hope those gliders & possums sleep with thermals in Winter. I used to live down the road from this, and several times it got snowed in there.

Here is another picture taken in the same area less than a mile from the other photos. Imagine what fun the gliders would have gliding amongst these trees!

That looks just like the big Island of Hawaii! No wonder they are illegal there! They'd own the island in a year!

Also looks like the coast of Northern California!

I was thinking of heading up that way again this weekend but noticed yesterday, that my car had a few issues which means they need to be sorted before I tackle that terrain again. It's a gorgeous spot and one not too many people know of which makes it all that more special.

Anyway I'm off to work ..late again!!
