I have been having trouble getting Tazz and Aussie to eat certain things...

Neither one likes to eat any fruit or veggies... relish or just chopped up... And both seem to only eat protien intermittently... They finish their BML each night but they just won't touch anything else!

Tazz used to be such a good eater, but lately his appetite is less... Could it been that it's not warmed up?

BTW... they have recently been to the vets for a wellness check and I'm waiting on the results of fecals...

Thanks

Jess, Tazz and Aussie

My girls are SUPER picky. We're still having issues. They're defacating and urinating normally, but you can tell they're reluctant to eat what I give them.

I think it's just trial and error.

I'd like to know what the heck I'm going to do with the almost entire papaya I have left since both girls refuse to give it the time of day. God knows the humans in the house won't eat it. XD

since you have it just keep giving it too them. maybe one of these times they will try it. but if its not there then they dont have the chance to try it because they feel like it. and try making a smoothie with it and use other things they like. my boys are kinda picky but not as bad as when i first got them. they dont like me adding anything to their eggs. their last owner didnt give any fresh food. but once i took away the little bit of pellets i had in there and the baby food they started getting better about eating the fresh food. and now they eat whatever i put in their bowl. just hope the LGRS diet will go well with them. it will probably be next week when they get their first taste of it.
maybe you should get them out to play before feeding them and have some papaya (or any food the glider wont touch) and use it as a treat during play time so they cant fill up on the food they know they like.

Here's what I do. When my boys wake up they're really hungry, and waiting for them is their dish of fruit (they quite often won't eat fruit at all.) Once that's been pretty well torn into, usually about half an hour after they wake up, then I'll give them the vegetables and protein. Sometimes it's the only way I can get them to eat papaya. If they don't touch it tonight, then tomorrow night that's the only thing they get at first. It works!

Haha. I read this AFTER I get home from the store, buying all the things I didn't already have for smoothies and relishes. XD

Eh... the container of mixed veggies WE can eat; I won't touch the fruits because there's papaya. But they're getting the fruit and veggies they've BEEN getting until tomorrow, when the smoothies and relishes will be ready.

casanova wouldn't touch carrots when i cut one up for him... then one day i gave him a baby carrot, not cut, and he now loves it... as for the papaya, he goes nuts for it, so i guess i don't have a problem there haha, at least one of us is eating something healthy

hahaha... With all the health issues our family has, and the torment *I* received growing up for having a large mother and I myself eventually becoming large, we're eating much healthier. I have MANY reasons for us (my son and I) to lead healthier lifestyles.

That being said... what my girls don't like that I have left overs of, we'll eat (UNLESS it's papaya). I made a batch of the veggie blend and a batch of the fruit blend, which has papaya, so we'll see how they do.

I never thought of the yogurt thing, maybe I'll try that...

I'll try putting fruits and veggies in first tonight and see what they do...

Guess I'll just have to trick the little boogers into eating their greens... They are just like kids!

If you have to, blend the fruits and veggies together and see if they go for it. You can try adding a little bit of yogurt to the blend or something else they like. You just have to get sneaky about it and be more stubborn then they are sometimes. I've reformed some of the world's most fickle little fuzzbutts! Lol!

I added yogurt and orange juice to the veggie relish. I'm assuming because my girls are still young they aren't eating that much, so I'm not THAT sure how much they're eating, but I just split the amount I put in their bowl tonight, so I guess I'll see in the morning.

I tried mixing the yogurt in with the fruit in the past and our gang seems to lick all the yogurt up and ignore the fruit. I have been buying the frozen fruit mix and it seems to be more to their liking after I let it thaw at room temp for about an hour. I alternate it with papaya or dried figs when I can find them. as for the veggies, most are picky and I give them a mix of sweet potato chunks, peas & carrots. If you could stuff it into mealworms all our fuzzbutts would eat it. They love oranges but they get it so rarely that it is a treat.
