So my girls are getting along pretty good, but I have a question about my one smaller and shyer glider. Last week I had them out every night (which is not common-I usually have them out every other to every 2 nights). Well after a few nights out little Vestral really wanted in as soon as she was let out. This happened for two nights. Wavern, the older/bigger and more independent glider ran around and played like normal. Do you think she just had an overload of outside the cage time? Or that it was different then her normal routine. She also normally loves her wheel and is (I think but could be wrong) running in it just a little bit more. Is this a sign of depression? During the day she lets me pet her and accepts treats. I still see her play with her sister during the night and I see her eat (but am not sure how much she eats-all the food is pretty much gone in the morning but there are two of them). Am I just being paranoid? Please give me some advice! Thank you guys!

I don't know if this will make sense, but if she isn't used to it, she can't really be acting "off". Maybe she feels more secure closer/in the cage? That's how Zoom is. You've heard about his quirkiness. I think some are truly more comfortable with the choice.

I think she may just feel safer in the cage. One of my males doesn't really like to be out of the cage. I have 2 that love to be out and my other 2 only sometimes want to come out of the cage. As long as she eats well and her ears are up and fur soft she should be ok. Just keep watching her.

Hey thanks guys! This does make sense. Maybe she starting wanting the comfort of the cage after the novelty of the playtime outside wore off after the second and third day. Glad to know that other gliders like their cages more than outside. Yes she is otherwise healthy. She eats fine and snuggles up with her buddy during the day and plays with her at night.

Good news-I had her out tonight and she spend about half the time in and out of the cage but was her old self jumping on and off me and giving me kisses and purring (and trying to pry my mouth open to get my tootsie roll! Don't worry, she didn't get it!). I guess I was just being paranoid! Aren't we all at times lol?

All I know is now I want a Tootsie Roll!

LOL! I get a kick out of it when they try to pull food out your mouth. You know you are doing something right if your gliders are so spoiled by you that they have no problem whatsoever attempting to do so! :D
