Hi everyone, I recently adopted my little glider about a month ago and I have been spending time with him. Even if I can't get him out of the cage to bond due to kids I still try and talk to him and pet him. He will smell me and let's me pet him while he is in the cage but when it comes to him coming out into the binding pouch it's a struggle every time. I feel like I'm going about the process wrong but I do not know. I really want him to start climbing in my hand and stuff so I can at least see some progress but I don't feel like I see any at all. If anyone has any sugestions or tips I would appreciate it a lot!! Thanks in advance.

Also he is only eating apple slices and won't eat them if the vita plus calcium is on it and can't get him to eat anything else. I have. It tried live Neal worms or bugs.

Surely you don't mean your glider lives on just apples?

I have tried the glider food that s and s exotic sold me with him but he will not eat it. He has eatin other fruits we have bought and I am going to buy live bugs like meal worms tomorrow. But he will not eat anything out of my hand or take anything from me. What is more food I can try for him I feel like he is a picky eater

We just introduced him to eggs and he loves them as far as diets we haven't really tried any, we got him at an exotic animal expo and asked as many questions as we could into taking care of him and feeding him but the people didn't really say much just said that the food we got from them was all we really needed and after reshearching we realized that they were wrong, I do make sure he eats at something at least once a day but not sure on the whole diet part. I am open to any sugestions I want to make sure he is well takin care of just like I would my kids. Which is why I reached out on here for help considering that s and s exotic wasn't any help at all.

I would suggest researching diets.
BML and critterlove / Original HPW seem to be 2 popular diets of many people suggest.

Like byk said, the bml and hpw are a couple you can look into. I feed mine tpg diet. It's relatively easy because you just mix up a batch and freeze it in ice cube trays and set them out to thaw an hour before feeding time. Another thing you want to research is calcium to phosphorus ratios. There are charts online to help you decide what fruits and veggies to give them. Gliders need a high calcium to phosphorus ratio for their bones, in order to prevent disorders like hind leg paralysis. So all together, each night, my gliders get 1. They're staple mixture cube,2. their veggie cube, and 3. their fruit cube. I leave the pellet food in their cage during the day for munchies.
