BML

BML stands for Bourbon's Modified Leadbeater's diet. It is an outdated modification of Ruth's prior Modified Leadbeaters Mix recipe that was based on the Leadbeaters Diet mix used by the experts at Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia. Bourbon's earliest known public posting of her diet modification was on 25 Nov 1998.

BML strictly used Rep-Cal brand as a general vitamin supplement which is known to use Menadione as a source for Vitamin K (K3 actually). Menadione has been banned for human consumption by the FDA as well as in use with any animals consumed by humans. Yet, it is still widely used in various pet food products including supplements, canned food, dry kibble food, and so forth.

The BML diet has not been updated since it's debut and while it is still widely used there are modern successor diets that take into consideration the issues of Hypervitaminosis and Menadione poisoning associated with the BML diet plan.
