Jan 2, 2015 live diet? Posted by: vewe have tree frogs and toads so we have crickets and mealworms on hand usually and have gotten into habit of feeding our glider(sophie) one or the other with her food. we've been wondering if we can just feed her a live diet instead of the bml we've been using. she has one of our closets converted to her cage/area and gets the run of our now glider-proof bedroom at night so exercise is not an issue. ps she's about 31 weeks old
Dec 29, 2014 Dried sweetened papaya Posted by: angel1210We are new glider owners. We did not get them as babies they are 6 & 9 months old. The man we got them from fed them the same food every night so we are still trying to learn what different things they can eat in order to round out their diets. We already arena difference in them and the vet says they look wonderful. I found dried sweetened papaya with papaya and sugar as the only ingredients. Is this okay for Lilo and Stitch to eat as a treat or is it bad for them? Dec 28, 2014 Glider seizures? Posted by: BinxAndGizmoHello, I'm a new member but I've always looked to glider gossip for help whenever I needed it. I just recently got my little gizmo a friend who I have named binx. I brought him home and the first time I took him out he looked around and then he froze and looking like he zoned out. So then I kind moved him but he wasn't responsive to me, so then I picked him up and held him, but then he was still zoned out but he started to grip my fingers. Then I noticed he was foaming or spitting from the mouth. It's the next day today and he hasn't done it since. I was extremely worried so I did a bunch of research and the most common result was seizures. I don't know his heritage so maybe inbreeding? What do you guys think? Dec 15, 2014 Hmmmm Posted by: JezerfezerWell Jojo nips me every once in a while.. But you know... However he doesn't stay still while being in my hand... How did you guys get your baby to chill in your hand.? Dec 8, 2014 Mmmm Posted by: JezerfezerAnyone on here from El Paso TX.? East side :) I really want to meet people that have sugar gliders >.< Dec 8, 2014 New Sugaaaah mama... Posted by: SuzBoop I crack myself up, thus the title... Anywho, Hi!!! New sugar glider momma... Adopted my pair(Gizmo&Sugar Lips) last Tuesday. They are 3 & 2 yrs old. Got them from a private owner... She didn't have "time" for them. Ugh. Said she hadn't handled them in months & didn't really clean their cage. The boy, Gizmo, has a crippled front leg... So sad. She told me he "likes to hold his hand behind his back" no real hint of a handicap... BUT I don't care... He's precious & he's mine. So, I set them up, cleaned their cage, fed them, water... And let them adjust to their new home. I've wanted a pair for a decade now, and have done my homework... But will gladly take any advice!! :) Dec 1, 2014 Olive's First day at work! Posted by: BailierheaToday Olive came to work with me and she was the sweetest little thing! Never made a sound and woke up a few times throughout the day for water/food. Today Olive had her first piece of an apple…I think we have a new favorite! She got so excited and kind of cooed…So adorable. She adventured out of her pouch today and opted to sleep over my heart. I think this bonding thing is going well!
Nov 30, 2014 Olive has come to her new Home! excited new momma! Posted by: Bailierhea Today I brought Olive home! She's a little apprehensive to come out of her pouch but she hasn't made any alarming sounds. Which is a good sign to me! lol I've discovered that she loves oranges and likes to play around in my hair...She is super sweet and I cant wait to see how her personality develops.
Nov 20, 2014 :( Posted by: JezerfezerMy sugar glider bit me really heard today and drew blood... I am feeling discouraged. It is a challenge for me to get him into his bonding pouch. :( Nov 18, 2014 Male now biting me! Posted by: nicolet21Help! I have two sugar gliders both about a year old. I got the male first about two months ago and then when i noticed he seemed to be getting lonely i got a female for company. They both have been getting along great, and my male seemed to be well bonded to me but lately he has become really aggressive. he has been biting my fingers when he sees them and hard to the point where he draws blood. And sometimes when i open the cage door he actually jumps from the other side of the cage to try and grab my hand and bite me. I have no idea what could have caused him to start acting like this, because he wasn't like this before, i have held him in his pouch and doing my normal routine with him. Even when i have tried to give him treats lately he bites me not the food. He isn't neutered so I'm not sure if I get him neutered it will help at all? Nov 15, 2014 Fighting or bulling Posted by: LolaAndGabbyI have had a year old sugie and a 2 year old sugie, i have had both for a year, they new fought until a little while after having them both for a year. Gabby, the 2 year old, crabbs at Lola, the 1 year old, scaring her into giving gabby her food. i tried to read up on it but my sources are scarce, hardly any of the websites had nothing on 'fighting'. so now for 6 days a week i separate them into different cages, on the 7th night i put them together and see how long it last be fore they fight. the longest it has lasted was 2 weeks, should i be concerned?
