Apr 18, 2013 Looking Posted by: sugargliderlover4I have been researching and searching for sugar gliders for sale since February and still have no luck. I would like two females classic greys but am not finding any nearby or for very cheap. If anyone has any thoughts of where I should look, (I have checked Hoobly, Craigslist, Yakaz, and all the breeders in my state) that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The concept has been in my mind for some time but it is really difficult and demotivating trying to find cheap off-the-shelf items to use. You have to get really creative and just play with things at the hardware store while everybody looks on wondering how nuts you must be to look at a pvc fitting for hours. It's not like I have catalogs of plastic fittings lying around after all. This new design uses a flat 2 inch threaded cleanout cover and a 2" threaded outside cap. The wheel itself becomes the nut which you rotate onto the threaded hub. Being plastic fittings, they are designed to seal, so they are very friction oriented and therefore hold the wheel firmly with no risk of detachment. You just grab the hub on the back of the wheel and either turn that, turn the wheel, or turn both until it disconnects. The only thing left to do on this design concept is to create a tail guard to cover the area over the axle that rotates. This is really easy as you can see in previous designs but I am still trying to find a solution for this that takes up less depth. Since my focus has been on the bearing and axle assemblies, I have been experimenting with original broken and actively used parts and wheels, so there are stray unrelated holes in these photos as well as things I should have cleaned up first...
Apr 1, 2013 Mar 29, 2013 Skate Bearing Exercise Wheel Quick Connect Posted by: kazkoI have been experimenting on various ways to improve exercise wheels and I came up with this one which I think is neat. The entire hub and bearing assembly is fastened together and the wheel becomes quick-connect. This allows it to fit through cage doors where others cannot. I am still working on a best way to fasten the wheel to the axle. Anything works, but the goal would be to not take up much space inside of the running wheel to make it safer. These photos show a knob and another fastener of experiment. I am even pondering building a thin homebrew fastener using my laser engraver. If you are a fan of the offset "bounce" concept, this design allows you to add a hole that is not centered. 1" is a bit rough so I would shoot for 1/2" off-center for bounce. So you can take whatever wheel you have and modify. It's easy.

Posted by: prslone75For all you people bashing Pocket Pets, I don't know what your problem is. I bought 3 gliders from them and all are healthy and happy. They have never been sick, and have never even been to the vet. I feed them almonds, fresh fruits and veges, and pellets. I've followed every bit of advice given to me by Pocket Pets and my babies are the talk of our family. No pet could be easier to care for or more perfect for kids. I can't believe anyone would have anything bad to say about Pocket Pets. All I can say is, if you're dismissing them based on what you read on here, then you are missing out. Mar 10, 2013 Diet tips or tricks Posted by: Drknght44 I am the proud owner of a single male glider that is showered in attention, love and if course.... Treats!!! I have recently discovered that, that is my downfall!! I have become accustomed as well as my suggje dexter to the high in sugar treats such as fruit loops or nutra grain bar pieces. His nightly diet consists of grapes, cantaloupe, honey dew, or apples usually covered in yogurt. I have some glidamins that I sprinkle on his food every other night and he does have glider pellets as well, other than that however he doesn't get much of a source of protein. He loves the glidamins, he snacks here and there on the pellets, he loves yogurt, but I worry that I am not providing enough or the right things for him to be nutritionally balanced!! This little guy has turned into my child, and I want him to have a healthy lifestyle... What are some good diet tips, recipes, substitutes, anything.... I am noticing that if its not "junk food" he really isn't that concerned and I want to make sure he is well balanced!! Any feedback is much appreciated!! Feb 27, 2013 My new twins Posted by: MommaOf2I just got my new twins Sheila and Joey last Friday. They will be two next month and I love them to pieces already. I have been wanting sugar gliders for a long time and have done tons of research on them and am still learning new things every day. My little ones came from a previous owner who didn't do much with them in the past few months so they are a little skiddish. My Sheila is my crabby one that likes to fuss all the time and bark all night long. I have found that she doesn't like the house to be completely dark in the house at night so I have to keep a light on for her or she will keep the whole house up. I'm still working on their diet and what they like to eat, they are picky, but we have found that cantaloupe is a favorite. Today was spent in a pouch around my neck "bonding" and a short car ride and they have done great. We did find out little Joey is afraid of the sound of running water. Tomorrow is planned for some more bonding and trying carrots for a treat. Feb 23, 2013 Smart Squirrel Comes When Called
