Does anyone else have a problem with fruit flies accumulating in your cages? I'm in NY and buried in snow, so it shouldn't be a problem right now, but every morning when I go to empty out the bowl, there are at least a dozen or so flying in his cage - I hate it, soo gross! Just wondering..

Mine wound up being from my potted plants after I had repotted them with new soil. One place they never were was the glider room because their door is always closed. It took me forever to get it under control. After this post, they came back and I finally traced it to the plants, got rid of them and the flies went too. That may not be the issue with yours, but there are some tips listed that might help.

I recommend using a Nosquito fly trap device to catch flying things. It will catch tiny fruit flies.

i had a bad problem with them not to long ago and i got the fly ribbons and hung them around my cage and my kitchen. also got a cup and put fruit and juice in it then put clear tape facing up on the top poke a small hole so they can get in and they will either get stuck trying to get in or get trapped inside. that worked best for me. but if none of this works google it and they have more info on other ways. good luck
