Ok, so I already have two male glider's. But I see some people on here with a whole loving colony :) All the glider's look so happy...(not to mention the proud owners!) Now I certainly don't need 7 glider's, but would one-two more hurt? Food would have to double, as would time I spend with my glider's.

Not right now, but in the future I may like to get more glider's. (I definitely want to continue learning more about mine first.)

My cage is 6 feet tall, 3 1/2 feet wide, and 3 feet deep. Is this large enough for more glider's?

My main question: Would my glider's be happier with a few more friends?

Now I don't want anyone to think I just want more glider's and am suggie hungry, as that's not my point! There's so much more to learn about my furry friends, and I want to know as much as I can before I get more. But in the future, as of right now, I wouldn't mind a few more fuzz balls

How could you not want that in your suggie cage?

Yes, your cage is certainly large enough to add a couple more gliders. Since you already have two males, you really want to stick with males. Putting a female in with them will cause fighting - even if they are neutered.

I have 4 gliders in a cage that size - 3 females and 1 neutered male. They have plenty of room as long as they are let out to run, glide and play each day.

Ok, thanks. Do you think I would have any issues with all males? Would I have to neuter them? (Mine are not neutered)

You should consider neutering your two gliders before adding any additional friends for them. Adding another intact male would probably results in fighting for dominance.

You might consider getting them neutered then add two females that are about the same age.

Keep in mind you will need an additional cage for the 30 day quarantine (no contact, in another room) Introductions can be a pain but if you let the gliders determine when they are ready to be together it will all work out.

I just added a female to a trio that came to me - 2 males and one female. I wanted to balance out the family.

I also have a larger colony of 6 gliders 2 males and 4 females.

Colonies are fun to watch. Each glider has his or her own personality and they seem to have fun little games they play together.

Yep, my six live together-3 males and 3 females. All males are neutered. The three males are a dad and two sons so I think that also has a lot to do with why they get along so well. I love that picture of Kazko's!

I have a spare cage for quarintine. It's just my suggies old cage :) Does anyone know how long I should quarintine my new suggies for? (or does it just vary...?) I was also wondering how much it might cost to neuter a glider.

I second Candy's suggestion. Neuter the boys, wait at least a month for the hormones to get out of their system before bringing two females into the house (look for two girls that are already together and bonded) take the new gliders to the vet to have fecals done on both, then again thirty days later. Keep everyone apart until you have the results.

I'd be concerned about you adding more males, even if they are fixed. Two females would be a much better gamble.

yes i agree. because even with nuetered males fights can still happen. right now i have my first glider. i plan to get another if it goes well with her. i want to see if i can be a really good suggie mom( i think i am so far) sorry to be off subject) i say it would probably be better to get females they tend to not fight or as much as males.id get like a pair of sisters or something a pair very closely bonded.
