i clean something almost every day. the boys are not fixed so i clean the cage in sections to avoid them going crazy marking everything. just keep a bottle of vinegar/water and some paper towels by the cage and take a few minutes to wash a part of the cage. after awhile you should know how messy your gliders are and have a schedule for cleaning.

avaglider.. a theme here is to do the cage in sections. It is the best method to keep the smell down but also keep their living environment sanitary. Imagine your bedroom was the only room you were kept in and you have to pee and poop in the same room. You probably want that room cleaned as often as possible but kept comfortable. Same applies to your gliders. If you clean everything then they will simply remark territory.

I will admit that I am not as clean as shadow and angelmom. (really everyday, I'm impressed. Do you do house calls? lol) Every weekend I clean the bottom pans and shamwow change. I use shamwow because it absorbs the pee and the poop just sits on top making it an easy brush off outside or into a can and then right into the wash. Then its either the outside of the cage 1 week, the plastic items (branches in my cages) and a 1/3 of the fleece items in the cages the next week, and then the remaining 2/3 of the fleece items. Then the cycle repeats. I wish I had the energy to do daily cleanings but that just ain't happening...

When I say I clean it "all", I'm not talking about their pouches. I'll be honest. Their pouches get changed probably once a month. They just don't stink. They don't eat in there, they don't go to the bathroom in there... Their food is kept far away from their sleeping pouches. There's no need to clean them (for me) unless they do actually become dirty.

Every other week on the pouches for the boys because they aren't neutered and I only change the girls at the same time due to convenience, otherwise I could put it off for probably another week.

the old cage is far from clean they are very messy and like to throw their food around so i just clean the side with the food area and one other side everyday. i usually have a video playing on the computer so i wash the cage and watch/listen to the video at the same time.

pouches, like kyro once a month. tray once a week. bars of cage every few days. no odor, no overmarking. if you thoroughly clean every couple of days, they will overmark to get it smelling "normal" to them.i have 7 gliders.

I dont use the vinegar and water thing but I use a disinfecting spray safe for animals and no matter how much I scrub the bars the residue wont come off; I scrub the cage every week so Im not letting it go. Does the vinegar remove it? Also how do you measure it out?

My roommate is neurotic about the smell so I spend a lot of time keeping the smell down. Thankfully I have 2 girls so it isn't too bad.

I clean everything once a week (wires, tray, fleece, and toys) I am now using just hand towels as the "bedding" for cost and convience (so easy just to toss in washer) I think I might take Jakeelwood's idea and use shamwow instead of the towels.
I used the white vinegar and water this last time but it gave it a weird old crayon/puke smell. Idk why it did but thts what happened, so I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep usin tht.
