Poll Question: Would you be willing to donate $5 every month or $50 once a year to an effort to fight against companies that exploit sugar gliders through mass breeding and sales; primarily P P P? The cash would probably all go to operating costs for a new website with much larger offshore hosting expenses. This is an effort to duplicate their own methods for protecting themselves against prosecution for their various anti-community and misinformation web sites with stolen copyrighted materials. I suppose the "membership" would buy you access to the non-public forums and the private wiki database collection on all of these people, and recent activity counts will give you weighted voting rights on how to handle any excess money or activities that come about. I think creating a group like this that doesnt hide the balance sheet from its members would be a good way to get started. Fighting fire with fire is going to cost a bit but with enough people behind it we can make a move together and possibly hurtfully dent their marketing attempts. The problem here is maintaining anonymity. Is anybody familiar with Chinese bank accounts and International stuff like that? The goal isnt to hide from the feds; just sleezy lawyers with canned threat letters on hand as many of you have gotten first hand from these creeps. Who knows, if enough "membership" is collected, perhaps the funds could go towards creating a class action suit against these people for the hundreds of recorded short term deaths of the animals they sell. I can honestly say I'm not sure. The Mill Breeder Project is an organized group collecting factual vet data and I personally feel like that has the potential to do more than just temporarily hurt these jerks. If everyone that had issues with these companies documented their stories and collected vet records, they could get shut down...not just slowed down. It isn't just P P P. They don't even come here. It's fine if people disagree with me but I don't think a handful of people boycotting will do a thing. There's nothing wrong with handing out information flyers. I think that's great. I know I also personally sent a fact-filled letter to the Expo Center here that allows these kinds of vendors. http://www.millbreederproject.com/ I really feel these guys will be able to make a larger impact since they work with vets gathering actual data. It does take time-especially since a lot of people don't get their vet records or submit them. What would the money go towards and who would get it? I think people would really like to have that part answered before they were willing to donate anything. The cause is great, I don't argue that one bit.
