It costs a lot to register domains and host offshore. There is a pretty good and specific immediate plan in place but it just requires some cash as do all things. Once going, I believe the site could display financials to the members and discussions could ensue on how to use any extra cash including paying for snailmail campaigns, sending stuff to important people, printing flyers... The main goal is to be offshore and protected from those pesky and highly-threatening legal letters for the registered and directing parties as well as the general membership. The site will be used to counter and poison their efforts in SEO marketing and spreading disinformation. It will be effective and it will cost money.
I believe this could become a useful tool even for, if not especially for, the members of the mill breeder project.
If it ends up going south as so many animal group things do, the control that members will have on this is to quit supporting the endeavor. I think that a small monthly membership helps to secure this. One very good and immediate outcome is that something will be happening quickly and actively to fight back. If excess funds come in, then those can be used by the group accordingly based on voting.
The only problem I see in all of this is doing it offshore. This involves someone banking in another country to create the ability to receive payments and such. Do they have nonprofits in Caymans, China, Singapore, Islands? Is anybody in the group experienced in this kind of thing?
