I have the excel cage (from e-bay) and I was wondering how much fabric and what kind would make the best cage cover to prevent food from flinging on the walls but would also be easy to clean (i.e. throwing in washing machine). I do not have the slightest idea how to sew so it would have to be rather basic.

Any suggestions and ideas are much appreciated

Thanks,
Cristy

Big Lots, $8 floral shower curtains, binder clips.

I recommend getting the lighter fabric to allow air to flow. It isnt meant to be a light barrier nor need it be an air barrier.

I spraywash my cages with the covers on. Makes it super easy.

I also use a shower curtain on my cage - but only on the back and the one side where their food bowls are.

Glider kitchens work great unless your glider like to take the food and run to the top of the cage and throw it around anyways.... urgh!
Kazko's shower curtain idea works amazingly well.

We just drape a bed sheet over thge tower. Now that's winter, we also throw a blanket over it. It only covers half way. They aren'y particularly messy eaters. Just messy boys. They like to throw poo at their mom when she sleeps near the foot of her bed which is right by their cage.

I keep fleece around the back of the cage AND use a kitchen. My cleaning is very minimal.
