Feb 28, 2010 Tent time Posted by: wkings5Tent time was great!!!I let them out and they ran and jump and looked like they were playing tag with each other and after about 15 minute ginger started to check me out she would go around my back and climb up and down my shirt but the one i wanted was sassy i knew ginger would come around quick because she let me hold her before i got her but sassy came crabing and biting but i loved the way she looked she has a beautiful coat but after an hour or two she came around and allow me to pet and rub her. Can't wait for tent time tonight.

Feb 25, 2010 3rd day Posted by: GumbyandTrazThird day since weve brought little Totoro home. And myyy goodness its already been a journey. When we first got him home he crabbed constantly and wouldnt let us near him. Now, he's letting us feed him treats and such. We've been researching for a cage mate for him, but idk if its a good idea at this point, due to his background. Were definitely going to get him one, but maybe when he's more comfortable. I'm a bit worried about Totoro. I know its probably normal for him to be freaking out this early, but I hate to see my little guy scared. He stayed in our room for the first time last night, (we had been keeping him in our bathroom at night), and it took him forever this morning to settle down and go to sleep. He circled his cage for a few hours, and just now nestled into his cloth =] Hes such a cute little guy. I hope he calms down and gets comfortable soon. I hate the idea of my baby being scared >.< Feb 15, 2010 A cagemate for Hoo Posted by: EsC87Hey everyone- I am looking for a cagemate for a little suggie named Hoo, she is around 3 months oop by Late april, so i am looking for another suggie girl to be her cagemate around the same age or as close to it as possible! If you have a girl, or know of anyone who does please contact me. As of now i am looking at a fellow member's baby (co2chantel?) but im looking around for several girls incase that falls through for any reason. Thanks all! Feb 11, 2010 ~Yay~ Posted by: EssikaAll my kittys are spayed and neutered! My Chief got neutered earlier this month and he did great! Came to a total of $159 and just this past wednesday my female Picasso got spayed and that was $299.25... Holy crap-aroni that was a lot of cash! I'm glad Tazz and Aussie are on my next pay! So far the cost for them are Neuter: $165.00 Visit for Aussie: $65.00 Nail trim is $16.50 ea I'm waiting on prices for a float and smear, anyone know the average cost? Feb 7, 2010 Nervous.. but doing my part to help Posted by: tomHatterIm going through all these ads on many different websites. If i found the right mate for my 2yr old female glider i would purchase one, but I really want to help one in need of a home. There is just so many ads out there i barely know where to start! Maybe kinda humorous but im nervous in wanting to find the right glider from the right person..lol.It will all be worth it when its trusts me enough to come to my hand and look up at me thanking me with those big precious eyes... Feb 6, 2010 CAN I GIVE MY SUGAR GLIDER YOGURT? Posted by: uhjordieI have a sugar glider and she loves fruit and veggies. I bought some strawberry and blueberry yogurt and was wondering if i could give her some of it as a treat? It is an organic yogurt. Help! Feb 4, 2010 Intros Posted by: EssikaI know how much some people don't approve of my early intro's but I would like to take some time to explain that I understand the concern of this community and that this is a huge judgement call. I would like to say I don't advise anyone to skip quarantines unless it is an EMERGENCY. (and no "oh well I want my babies together faster!" does not count) These guys weren't meant to meet face to face until AFTER Tazz had his neuter and there was at least a vet check, regrettabley Tazz managed to get onto the bed without my knowledge and they met. I WILL be continuing with introductions and lots of supervised play time... I'll be doing cage swapping and of course exchanging pouches... It's what appears to be best for them. This is a judgement call and I feel that for MY babies, breaking a conventional rule was worth the risk... Parasites can usually be easily fixed where as if a tail is chewed off, that's not so easy. They met again last night, face to face and spent a good 2 hours together running around the room. Tazz did try to mount her several times but I did pull him off before he successfully mounted. (And YES I am prepared for babies if it does happen although I DO NOT have that as a goal.) Aussie spends much of her time with him, riding around on his back and grooming him and Tazz likes gallop over to her and jump over top of her... They are a pleasure to watch and fun to play with but mostly I'm happy that Aussie is starting to grow hair back on her tail and Tazz is up for more than when he is forced to be.... Feel free to let me know what you honestly think and if you are mad and think I'm irresponsible, tell me so.... I realized I would probably not have the support of the community on this, but I did it anyways, so lets hear it.... Feb 1, 2010 I have her! Posted by: EssikaSHE'S HERE! I've never been to excited in my life! She is the most darling little thing I have ever seen except for Tazz. Although she is not without problems... =( She has been alone for long enough that she is self mutilating by pulling the hair from her tail, and she is overweight. Her cage is also much to small for her to live comfortably, and it was VERY dirty and stinky. Her fur looks TERRIBLE! It's all cracked and rough... Unfortunately there isn't much "cat free" space in the house so they have had to stay in the same room but they aren't together... There is much chattering and chirping going one and Tazz would like nothing more than to get out and see who's there! Jan 30, 2010 Day 3.... Posted by: galaeowynWell we are at the end of day 3 at home....I can see a very marked change in how Kyra reacts to me today vs. yesterday or the day before. But we had a very active day of doing things. I took her with me everywhere I went....even to the grocery store and not a peep out of her till we were back in the car...then she crabbed...lol....but she's stopped crabbing every time the phone rings or I talk above a whisper! So she's definitely getting used to the way our house runs. She slept better in the pouch today than yesterday too. Now if I can get her to eat more veggies and fruits.....she eats the BML with no problem. I think as she gets more comfortable things will even out for all of us as well! I'm absolutely in love with my new baby.....I can't figure out how I ever was without her! Oh and I made her a baby bag to carry her treats extra blankie and water bottle I'll have to take pics of my projects! I'm having so much fun!!Jan 28, 2010 She is coming TODAY! Posted by: Essika*SQUEALS* I'm so excited I might wet my pants lol.... Aussie is being dropped off at my boyfriends place tonight and we can start the quarantine. She is in a smaller cage so that will need to be fixed... But I think I'll wait til after quarantine. Apparently she does need a bit of TLC as she is slightly unsocialized, but nothing unworkable. She's never had a cagemate so it will definitely be an interesting experience to see how her and Tazz work out together. I'm also looking forward to getting Tazz neutered, my new vet seems really awesome. She is fairly experienced with gliders and has seen a variety of ailments and issues. She charges $165.00 for a neuter including a followup visit. Not sure if that includes the Metacam that she sends home for pain management or not though. They also can provide an E-collar for self mutilation. problems. Her rate for a checkup is $65.00, I'm going to see if I can bring in both gliders for a checkup at the same time and have her do some tests (float and smear) on both to save some cash. ^.^ I'm really hoping for a happy ending in this... I hope Tazz and Aussie experience love at first sight and can cure each others lonliness... Jan 27, 2010 Ohhhhh I got to see my new baby today!! I'm sooooooo Happy!! Posted by: galaeowynWell we decided to get a little girl.....she settled in my hands immediately.....the boy didn't he was very snappy and he just didn't warm up after even several minutes. I didn't want to say no to either of them but I felt a connection with her.....We named her Kyra. (Keyrah) I just like y's....lol....but she is soooo beautiful! I can't wait!! Friday she comes home!!
