Jul 25, 2009 Straws. Posted by: Roxy and Stormys mammaI was reading on here earlier that sugies like drinking straws. So i put a few of them in Roxy & Stormys cage and the love them. They don't have very many play toys but i've also heard they like to play with baby toys and cat toys...so i also put in a cat ball that jingles in their cage and they like that too..I want to MAKE them new pouches because theirs stink so bad and i hate wearing them around my neck because they stink ;p. But i was wondering does anyone have any advise what i should put in their cage that is safe and fun for them to play with and enjoy? I love them so much and they are just the cutest animals ever! I want to spoil them rotten ;] Jul 24, 2009 Gliderss... Posted by: Roxy and Stormys mamma So i have had my sugar gliders for three weeks now! They seem to be adjusting very well. The lady i bought them from left me a list as to what they eat...[She had them for three years before i bought them on July 10th] We have no pet stores down here where i live so i can't buy actual sugar glider food. These are the foods she told me to feed them====!Carrots,apples,catfood,birdseeds,pecans,nuts-unsalted,dried banana chips, dried carrots,lettuce...====! So anyone have any advise to this or some place i can ored their food from that is not to expensive. Or maybe someone knows the closest pet store to where i live. I live in Mabank Tx. They also like to nipp me a lot. They are very active during the night i can hear them. So that's a good sign that they are adjusting to me right?! Theyy really enjoy the bird seeds and the apples the most.I also give them this grass stuff...its called...Pure & natural alfalfa...And on the package it says its good for all small animals and its a great source of fiber so should i continue fedding them this or no? They dont bark much either....and theyy dont really stink either and are not that messy. Roxy loves to escape under my bed because it's reall dark. But any comments or positive advise please tell me. I would love to hear some gret advise to help me make my babies lifes as happy as possible... Jul 23, 2009 First Flight Posted by: Jay21Early this morning I took my gliders out into my bathroom to spend a little quality time with them. Suprisingly she climbed onto my shower curtain and was gliding off of it. I wasn't expecting it considering that I jjust got her about a week ago. I might take her brother out a let him glide. He is just so shy Jul 23, 2009 SUGAR GLIDERS NOT ALLOWED IN STATE! Posted by: ClaytonYou won't believe this... alright maybe you will, but still! I have been looking into getting sugar gliders... but I found it a little funny you didn't hear or see alot about them in the state of Alaska! Well it turns out the state of Alaska is a "Clean list" state which do not allow sugar gliders! :( Has anyone ever gotten a permit to keep an animal? and if so would you think I could manage on going down to the city of anchorage and get a permit for a glider? I am dieing for one.Jul 22, 2009 Calcium Posted by: co2chantelWhat is the BEST way to get calcium into your glider?? I tried the Rep Cal but my gliders won't touch any food that has it on it??? Also I see the numbers next to the different foods, and I know that they are supposed to explain the ratio of the food. But heck if I get it from there??? I know that they are supposed to have 50% protein, 25% vegi, and 25% fruit. I feed mine the HPW diet, so I give them the frozen mix which if I'm right is pretty much protein? Then I switch up fruits and vegies. Am I doing this wrong? Also what do I do about the calcium? And can someone explain the numbers to me 1:5:2??? Jul 22, 2009 Male or Female gliders? Posted by: ClaytonI've been lucky enough to meet alot of new people who know alot about gliders on this site, but I have done lots of researching... and have never come across companionship between sexes... I am planning on getting two gliders... but I first want to know is it better to have 1 male 1 female? or 2 females or 2 males? Because I'm not breeding them... but I do want to know whats best for the glider.Jul 22, 2009 Leucistic sugar gliders out there? Posted by: ClaytonI'm looking for breeders who are selling leucistic sugar gliders! I knew someone selling them for 250 dollars each awhile back (didn't realize that was an incredible deal) and I was wondering if anyone else out there is selling them for a good deal? When I say deal I mean people who aren't looking for over 500 dollars! and yes... I know thats cheap for a leucistic! but online i've found them before Jul 21, 2009 My Suggies Posted by: Jay21I just got 2 gliders (lilo and Stitch) they are brother and sister. Lilo is very playful and optimistic but her brother is not quite so bold yet. Whenever I try to pick him up he goes starts crabbing at me like he wants to be left alone. Lilo loves the exercize wheel and Playing with me. But she nips me alot. If anyone has any tips to get them from stop nipping at me so much, feel free to post a comment! Jul 18, 2009 OWWWWW Posted by: co2chantelSo last night my husband put up his tent, so me and my gliders Lelo and Stitch could have some play time together. Well I ended up staying in there with them for about 2-3 hours. I had many laughs, and Lelo would climb to the top of the tent, then turn to jump on my head. I had also purchased some crickets, unfortunantly I got the small ones, when I should have gotten the large. I decided to let the little crickets go in the tent, so that my little guys could play like they were in the wild and CATCH the bugs...LOL good thing there not, the poor little guys would STARVE! LOL Stitch would grap at one, think he would have it, so he'd bring it up to his mouth, when he would discover that he had missed! LOL, it was VERY intertaining. All though I wish I would have wore long sleaves......and pants......yep I have scratches all over my arms and legs. And now today they sting.....but it was worth the pain......:)
