Aug 17, 2009 Update & Questions ?! Posted by: Roxy and Stormys mammaSo i have now had my sugar gliders for about....a month. And they still are not bonded with me. They still nibble...And they like to play with me but not a lot....I put a hamester wheel in their cage and they dont get in it? I dont know really any other toys to get them! I have some ribbons...Some straws...Some cat toys...But what else should i get that they would be more than happy with! I love them to death...they are the best animals ever...and i never leave them at my house when i go somewhere for the night! They have also been making these noises...not crabbing...not barking...but its kinda like a squeaky hissing noise! Does anyone know what that is? & i also am curious...what more could i do for them to bond with me?! How long did it take you?! Aug 9, 2009 My new babies will be here soon!! Posted by: starryskye1I am counting down the days until I get my new babies!! They will be here on Thursday!! I can't wait!! Aug 7, 2009 FIRST TENT TIME!! Posted by: byrdToday was our first tent time I had been trying to get him to bond to me by feeding in the cage but he still wanted to bite me so I figured maybe tent time would help. He would only come out of his pouch a little but he did't try to bite me when I was giving him yougurt on a piece of apple to lick off so that is a god start will do more tent time tonight before I go to bed and see if it makes a difference. Aug 3, 2009 One step closer Posted by: Jay21So far I have had my suggies for little over a month... and over the time I have had some bonding problems since I first got them. Espically with my male. He dosn't wan't to be bothered with me. I know he is not entirely scared of me, because he takes treats out of my hand through the cage. When I get my hand near him he crabbs and flashes his teeth at me sometimes. If you have any tips PLZ post a comment. Anyways.. Me and my female are really making progress as far as bonding. she climbed on my body and took a ride this morning for the first time without biting me. Next step gliding to me ! Jul 31, 2009 Robin opossum died today Posted by: kazkoRobin, my last remaining South American four eyed opossum, died today. She had been cursed with health problems since before I even got her. Over time our vet removed a number of mammary and other tumors, a bunch of loose skin and fat deposits from another disorder, and finally she decided that the most recent tumors were too entwined into her organs to be removed successfully. So I've known that Robin was dying for a month or two and I was prepared for this day. She hadnt been eating for a few days, I caught her sneezing/coughing a day ago, and I saw today that she was too weak to get back into her pouch which has been laying flat on the ground for her. The tumors had grown very large, were actually ripping out of her skin on her belly, and they were rather infected. It was time. I took her in, said goodbye and we gave her an abdomen injection and she passed a little after 5pm curled up safe in her pouch while being stroked. She was a very unique animal to keep. She was smart and somewhat entertaining. Other than her constant health issues, she was pretty easy to care for and she actually got along with our dogs. I am happy that she is no longer suffering, but I'm going to miss her and I think my dog Rowdy is going to miss her even more. I think that he thought of her as his pet and would follow her around the yard keeping an eye on her. So I shed a tear for my fallen opossum and I picture her in her heaven hissing at Phil once again.

Jul 28, 2009 Common Question Posted by: Jay21I know this i a common question but... I need some bonding tips. I would like to become closer to my female. Espically my male. He is scared of me alot. Please post some comments. Jul 27, 2009 A lilttle help? Posted by: Jay21i have had my gliders for around 2 weeks now, and my male is still scared of me. His sister seems to be adjusting to me very well, she just nips alot. Right now I have two quetions. Is my female nipping at me because she is not fully used to me. And around when will my male start to settle down? Thanks Jul 26, 2009 Can you scare the pee out of a glider? Posted by: suggieluver02well since my foster glider buttercup, throws her poop at people she doesn't like... we had to vaccum. she was awake.i told my dad use the small vaccum because if we swept it, it would probably just go into the carpet so like i said he used the smallest vaccum we had. so it would not make much noise. after we finished, i went back in my room to check on her,... and she was on the platform... and was sittin in a puddle of liquid.since then she seems fine.
