Dec 9, 2013 Suggies Looking for a good home. Posted by: LilCrazyatTimesUnfortunately, I have to sell my three gliders due to work schedule and high likelyhood of moving from MD to a state that they are illegal to own. :( I have two females, moderately socialized Panda and Willow. I also have one male, Clyde. Clyde is a bit awnry ever since previous owner split him from his mate, Bonnie. I haven't been able to really bond with him. The girls are sweet and LOVE to explore. Clyde is grumpy but has a sweet spot for Panda's attention and normally chills in his hammock. If interested please email me at heidisnow83@gmail.com.
Dec 7, 2013 Rosco and Darko Posted by: Rosko and DarkoI don't know how this works so i am going to try. i have 2 sugar gliders. Rosco and Darko. i found this website whenever i want to research about my babies. i registered and learned lots of cool stuff. i might type more another time. i let you guys comment, help me understand this website even more! Dec 6, 2013 6 days with skruffles. Posted by: StaceyfensterSkruffles is a happy glider! I think the bonding is going along nicely. When I take him out and let him sleep in my shirt that's the only place he wants to be. Unless he's been in my hoodie pocket or on my shoulder under my flannel. I haven't heard any crabbing. The only noises I've heard are when he's eating and he makes that cute I'm-happy purring/popping/crackle whatever you wanna call it noise. He also barks at night, around about 2ish. Last night he started barking so I went and covered up his cage and he stopped as usual(I hope it's okay to cover their cage). The night before last is the first time I've heard him hiss. He gave out two short hisses after I covered his cage because he was barking again. I made him egg for the first time last night and for dinner... Well, breakfast for him, he had egg, a tbs of carrots and celery, tbs of mixed fruits: apple, banana, and a couple of pomegranate seeds. Those are his favorites. He wasn't sure about the egg at first but he absolutely loves it. He doesn't really drink out of his lead beater for water much which worried me but I've been putting in a little water bowl so he's alright in that department. I just brought him two little pieces of egg and he's enjoying that(he's making that cute little happy sound again). All in all, it seems to have been a great first week! I've learned so much from the forums on this website and I am thankful. We are going to get him off of the pellets(called Tutti Fruity) and get him on a diet. I've already taken the pellets out of his cage. I made him a little bridge/perch thing out of an old tshirt by braiding three piers together and he loves that! He's just hopping around a we speak, happy as can be :) The only things left to do are to get his bigger cage, which will be sometime in the next couple of weeks! And after we make his cage bigger we will hopefully be adding a new little guy to the family :) Six days with skruffles. -Stacey Fenster.
Dec 3, 2013 A Mermaid's Introduction Posted by: onelilmermaidHello! I'm Mermaid (a.k.a. Lucy) and I am going to be getting gliders sometime next year. I have been researching them for at least 3 years, and next year I will be getting my own income and I can't think of anything I want more than to take care of some sugar babies! I plan on helping my husband make a cage for them, and putting a tent up every night in the living room. I know a vet near by who has treated gliders and I am going to call her and ask her some questions about her experience with them (any suggestions would be welcome), and I was impressed with her from previous interactions. I am excited to sew for the gliders as sewing is one of my favorite pastimes, and if anyone knows some good tutorials I'd love to see them. I think that's enough for now, but I hope to post updates on my glider journey as I go. Dec 3, 2013 Two males and a female!!!! Posted by: maddie.smith28As in my past entry i described the death of Sammie. Timmy's new friend Louie is very sweet. Well we went to a flea market and there were sugar gliders. I saw this one that i completely fell in love with and ended up bringing her home. We were planning on keeping her in a separate cage from Timmy and Louie and getting her another friend. Well she ended up bonding with Timmy an Louie. Now they all live in a cage together! We were planning the neuters when we found out the female, Bonnie, is pregnant! I have seaarched low and high for what to do! They are all bonded and we dont know who the father is! Timmy and Louie have never fought and all continue to live happily. Bonnie is now about 7 weeks along. What will happen once they are oop? We heard the other could canibalize. Has anyone had two males with a female? Any tips? Right now we are planning to let nature take it corse and get both the males neutered before they can mate with Bonnie again. Thanks! Dec 3, 2013 How to deal with the death of a sugar glider. Posted by: maddie.smith28 I got 2 male sugar gliders for my birthday, Timmy and Sammie. Well one day Sammie managed to get out of the cage and my dog got him. She is a very sweet Italian greyhound, but to her he looked like a stuffed toy. Also when we first got them we were miss informed that our dogs and cats would not hurt them because they don't smell like rodents! They even had a pit bull licking one of theirs! We were always cautious, but slightly more layed back around the other animals. He passed away while we were rushing to the vet. We took his body back home. I showed Timmy his body so he would know that Sammie died. I dont know if this is what we are supposed to do when dealing with the death of one. When one of my dogs died the other became very depressed looking for her for months.I thought if he knew he was gone he wouldnt be looking for him. I went that same day to get another sugar glider for Timmy. He found a friend and he is doing good. Is this what to do in thee future? How do you handle a death of a sugar glider? Any tips? Thank You! -R.I.P Sammie<3- *Now we have a cage with locks and keep them in a separate room completely off limits to other animals* Nov 26, 2013 WFB twin boys Posted by: bellalucysmomI am looking for a forever home for my wfb twins. Nov 16, 2013 New-ish Sugar Baby owner :D Posted by: Jake_Dry Hey guys, I'm pretty new with my babies. my male(tobias a.k.a. tobby) is fully grown, I had original had two (male and female) but they people were mistaken by the second one's gender and I had two males. I returned the other male since my parents wanted me to have a breeding set. IT WAS REALLY SAD returning him :( it sucked how fast I fell in love with them. I did however recently get my new female (Penelope a.k.a. Penny and or Nelly.) and at first they did not get along, I did however work on this the best way I could, and they do sleep in the same pouch now(personal victory, yes.)BUT my newest one still won't bond with me to well. Tobby and I are great friends and he comes to me with no problem, but I don't know how to get Penny to bond with me. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING, from hand feeding to sleeping in an old t-shirt then tearing it up and putting it in the pouch, to letting her sleep on me during the daily activities. BUT she still won't bond nearly like Tobby has. and I am a little worried since she should reach maturity soon. Also I have no clue how to handle the baby once he/she gets here.. I have been reading some books and blogs on it (cause I would be crushed if I hurt one of them... D: )But does anyone know if I should do anything (cage wise) or have any suggestions on what to do with the lil' joey once it gets here? I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE THE BABY AHHHHHH:D any advice would be great! THANKS :D Nov 9, 2013 Mean mommy Posted by: Breanna428Just received three gliders, breeding pair and baby(6 wks oop) . The male and baby are the nicest I've ever had. Mom is a different story. She crabs every time I try to touch their pouch. I thought I got her to trust me when she licked apple sauce from my finger then she but me. I thought it was only because there wasn't much left on my finger so I got more and she bit again hard. Not enough to break my skin but hard enough for me to wince. Now every time I giver her apple sauce he bites no matter what. I haven't even gotten to hold her yet every time a go near her she lunges at me and bites. Any ideas to help? Nov 8, 2013 HELP! Posted by: CelinaPHi everyone! I have a 7 month old sugar glider Aladdin. Yes I know you're supposed to have two. But I play with him so much and he's so loved that I think he's okay. But I'm always getting over worried about him... He makes a weird noise but it sounds like it's coming through his nose... And people say that's normal? I just wanted to make sure. And his genitalia is out a lot today. Should I be leaving him be?
