Feb 27, 2011 Opinions Posted by: spyderwmnThis is my take on things. I believe that we all have individual experiences with people. For example, I could talk to somebody and think that they're a great person. On the other hand somebody else may think that the same person is a jerk. It's between the second party and that person. Not me, the second party, and the individual. It is what it is. Don't waste your energy on an opinion. I hope I haven't offended anybody with what I said. Then too, this is only my opinion... Feb 18, 2011 please read cont...!!! Posted by: jasoncarrie88From my other post this lady(that I was talking abut from other post) she also says that she saves all these sugar gliders from people that like abuse their sugar gliders... We didn't abuse ours we took very good care of them and they we very, very, very, healthy... so please everyone if you want a sugar glider or to sell yours please don't go from this lady... Feb 18, 2011 please read! Beware!!! Posted by: jasoncarrie88Hi, we sold this lady a couple of our sugar gliders. She told us that it would be a forever home, but then we found that she just buys sugar gliders all the time, just to turn around to sell them again for more money.... Oh yeah and she still owes us money... she won't return our phone calls, emails, text messages or anything.... Please everyone do not sell or buy from her. Her user name on here is TheHomermomma She will just lie to you, cheat you, she is nothing but a liar, thief, cheater, who doesn't care about sugar gliders or people.... we only were selling us because we are moving and can't take them with us... Also we found out that she had "some sick" looking gliders and she was trying to sell them on here. We are so mad at her... for ling to us about our sugar gliders and money.... she doesn't even know how to care for them.... ***PLEASE everyone don't buy or sell anything to or from her.... I hope this has helped you!! Feb 17, 2011 My 1st Kitchen Garden Posted by: KatFarrellThis isn't really related to sugar gliders, but I felt like sharing. This is my first year planning, implementing, & managing a kitchen garden. I have about 30 sq. ft. of space plotted out on the small lawn that my landlord has alotted to the little effeciency appartment. :D And even with the garden plot (I'm going to be using raised beds), I'll have pleanty of room for a table, grill, chairs, & summer BBQ's. :D Yes, my sugar gliders will also be enjoying the bounty gained (though of course I'll be doubly sure that something's ok before feeding). And I'll be attempting to grow everything organically and biodynamically (organic removes the chemicals, biodynamic works with nature). I'm going to try for some 'cool weather crops' such as root veggies and lettuces (some of my seeds are alreay in their starter soil and I'm impatiently waiting on their little green 'heads') before the summer veggies (plus edible flowers, herbs, & another round of lettuces). Fingers crossed that everything works out! If someone shows interest I'll post pics & updates (and just might even if no one shows interest, lol). :D Feb 16, 2011 I must be finally becomming a member of the glider world Posted by: Amy1706I went to GC to just do some reading and a friend of mine posted a question and got some of the dumbest replies and in on of the replies a person said that Sugar gliders are not top on the list of needing rescues and that it was basically ok to leave them in a cage alone as long as they had toys a wheel and good food. well that got me all kinds of angry and I chimed in and told her she had no clue what she was talking about and that Tammy's post must have hit a nerve well don't you know a Mod came in and reposted the rules (just for me) and I guess that was my slap on the hand for speaking and telling the truth Thank god we can say what needs to be said here and not get introuble for being honest....Ed even posted on that thread as well Feb 15, 2011 why so much food? Posted by: mahglidderI am using some new recipes and all have you feeding 1 Tablspoon of veg. and 1 Tablespoon of fruit to each glidder plus 1 1/2 teaspoon of hpw. How could they possibly eat all that? Thier bellies are only thumb big. I think that is a waist of food. I am asking for your opinions on this. I also add 1/2 teaspoon of calcium to the hpw batches. They never seem to eat that much of the fruit and veg. So is it logical to cut them in half? All the glidders I have now have come from different people and all were being feed wrong, so They all eat differently and I'm trying to get them to eat properly. I have tried all ways chopped.puree, mixed veg and fruit, separate fruit and veg. Protein mixed with veg and separate. They all eat thier protein if it is separate. I am making some of the new recipes and thought that alot of it goes to waste so I thought i'd ask you all what you thought? Feb 14, 2011 Intro's went awesome! ((: Posted by: suggiemom02So intros went way better than i expected! But then again, i also assume worse case scenario will happen! But it was totally the opposite! They saw eachother, ran to eachother, and then continued sniffing, and then, Boogie climbed on Bellas back and started rubbing her head all over her! I'm so happy.. words cant describe it! As soon as my camera has more charge, I'll get pictures of the new cage, and the best friends in it now! Feb 13, 2011 The new cage Posted by: suggiemom02 So we ordered a cage off of ebay and we just got it yesterday! I was afraid it would be awful because it was after 5, an the dont deliver on sundays, and on mondays no one is here to sign for it! But sure enough, after being in the house waiting all day... It arrived! So my dad put it together and it was a little bigger than i expected! its nearly as big as me only shy by 5-6 inches. It was one of the black 5 level deals, We arent using half of the extras that came with it and 3 of the 6 feeder dishes were cracked, or broken. It was 95.99 with Free shipping! although it was about 2 days late, im still pretty extatic! So i'm pretty sure the girls will be too! I'm going to post pictures as soon as i can charge my camera and snap a few good ones! Feb 10, 2011 LOTS of Barking Posted by: KatFarrellLast night was probably the first night of normal activity since Fritz welcomed his two new friends into his colony (Quinn & Nia).
Which I am extreamly thankful for because I was definitly starting to worry about the low levels of activity on the part of all 3 gliders and the subsequent low appetites. But anyway, to the barking: there were probably 3 boughts of barking last night. And I'm only used to Fritz barking occasionally (usually when he doesn't get his normal out of cage time). This is the first time there has been barking since Nia & Quinn joined the colony. The first bought of barking woke me up. I went out to investigate (I'm used to the barking stopping after I enter the room). Quinn was on the side of the cage, looking down and barking...non-stop. I had read that some gliders bark if they see a bug they don't like, so I went searching for a spider in their poo tray...nothing. He still would not stop barking. It was the middle of the night so groggy me gave up & went back to bed despite the barking. A few hours later, I was woken up again. Not sure who was barking this time, but it stopped when one of them left the pouch. Guess maybe who ever was barking was like 'Hey! Now's no time to be sleeping!' lol Then, the last bought of barking was at 4:30am. And it stopped as soon as I entered the room. o.0 Feb 6, 2011 day 3 Posted by: Efula32Today is day 3 that my babies are on their antibiotic med. It has been hard getting them still enough. Boy, they are both fighters. Since they started taking the meds, both have upset tummies and have diarrhea. I called the vet saturday to see if I could pick up some phypomucial to help with thier upset tummies. Unfortunately, I cannot pick it up til monday since the vet was closing ten minutes when i called. In the meantime i still have been giving them pedialyte in a needle-less syringe every few hours, and gave them a few pieces of oatmeal. I am limiting treats because I am not sure if it will upset their tummies more. Since last night they both started having more "formed" poop, but disappointed that when they pooped this morning it was still liquidy. Hey, this time I didn't have diarrhea in the sleeve of my sweatshirt...ew. I am just happy that they are eating all thier food, and still very active when up.Feb 6, 2011 A disaster could of happened... Posted by: Efula32Around 10pm tonite (saturday) I woke up from my nap (snoozed off while watching tv for a few hours)and questioned why my house is so cold. I was feeling cold while laying on the couch beforehand. So I went downstairs into the laundry room and took a look at my furnace. To my surprise the pilot light was out. Confused and worried since the house temp dropped from 70 degrees to 63 degrees and continued to drop. i called my ex and he came over to relight the pilot since I didn't know how. In the meantime I already had my suggies in their pouch and under the blanket that i had wrapped around me to keep them warm til the heat got back on. It took a lil while, but got it back on. They did have lots of blankies but when I put my hand in the pouch, it was cold in there. I am so lucky that I was home and didn't go anywhere. It would of been so bad. Still have no idea why and how it happened...but I am grateful that I had someone to help and everything is ok.
