i really dont care who gets mad over this but i joined a little over three weeks ago and while reading through the site i noticed that a lot of you are really f***in rude and some people may not know all there is to know about suggies but you shouldnt act like you are god and do know all some people ginuinely need your help and shouldnt feel like you are totally trying to school them a lot of you make people look totally stupid i can only imagine how some have felt at times behuman and have some compassion

Wow..that's a pretty big generalization. What would you classify as "a lot of you"? From what I've seen since I joined is that if a post starts getting out of hand, someone usually steps up and points it out. There are plenty of times that you can't tell someone's tone or intention through type and if someone is called out, they usually are good enough to apologize. I think that proves just how human and compassionate we are. I'm not defending rudeness, but that was a pretty general accusation. We also encourage people to send a personal message to someone if they have an issue. Feel free to step in any time if you see something you feel is uncalled for. I call this site "home" as opposed to others because it was the LEAST unpleasant. I think most of the people here are genuinely caring and take others into consideration. There will always be a few people that rub everyone the wrong way, but they probably do that in real life too! As I always say, skip 'em and move on...

This is one of the few forums that suggie owners can openly and truthfully state their knowledge, thoughts and feelings and opinions. There is very little censorship here. Everything is always open for discussion. And thats the reason most of us like it here.

You will find most suggie owners to be very passionate about these little furbutts and only want the best for them. Some people need to be told to do differently - and its for the sake of the gliders that we tell them. Most who come here are here to learn. Even those of us who have been around awhile still have much to learn. And we learn from each other.

If you want censorship - there are other forums that censor, ban and only allow everyone to "play" nicely. But honestly, I like the debates and discussions that go on here. Its how we all learn.

I feel very much at home here. Im sorry you feel differently.

But I agree with Rita about if you want to go to a forum where everything is censored and they get ban happy I'm sure sugarglider.net will be happy to have you join! Of course the people there don't ban or censor rudeness until it offends the mods.

I think the other boards are much more rude than this one is, and I know like Belinda says things get taken out of context then to add to that you get blabbermouths like me who ramble and go off topic without saying what they meant!

I noticed that also. Dont get me wrong now, I love all the things I have learned on this site and I feel like in some way I am getting to meet everyone thru the conversations I have read, but....there are a few that just lash out.

Some teenager wrote I think my sugar glider is Prego" and someone wrote back "you think your sugar glider is spaghetti sauce". Things like that are really uncalled for.

I don't think that is most. Everyone is very helpful. And everyone seems just as crazy about their babies as the next one. I read something about what Kasko wrote earlier about how things can be misconstrued through this type of communication. Believe me I know. Friends have even taken things the wrong way thru IM. Just consider that most of what you have read may have been written with a smile on the face and the writer thinking "goodie, goodie I can help someone" It might have been something that worked for them but maybe not everyone.

Its a learning experience just like raising human kids. I am quite sure I didn't do everything my parents wanted me to do with my child and I am quite certain that the parents out there reading this that they didn't either and to the kids out there you won't do everything with your children that your parents want you to do with their grandkids.

All we can all do is take in the knowledge or hearsay that everyone is throwing about and take that thread of thought and learn all there is to know about it on our own.

I think some times we are in such a haste to answer questions that our wording seems to come out wrong. I mean lets face it we are talking on a computer and you don't have a face to put expressions too. So some times yea they do sound harsh and bitter but I don't think that is always the intention. Unless we are talking to Eric then it is intended You know we love you eric

Wow, Rude? Welcome to America! If you noticed most of the people here like animals more than they like people, and are very passionate about animals! Can you imagine how many times THE SAME questions have been asked without any research!! YES, I can be real rude when dealing with ignorant people(Ignorance is a lack of knowledge), when the info is right in front of their face. I feel that if someone doesn't want to do a little research on a subject(being proactive),chances are they are going to be disappointed and fail. Do you think we are here because we are bored and have nothing to do? No, we love our little buddies and want to do whats best for them and learn all we can. If you come here and ask questions, chances are that not everyone will agree with the answer(thats the Internet for you) deal with it! And another thing "If you can't take the crabbing,stay in your pouch"

Yup catman is definitely right i like animals way more than people. I try not to be rude though, I understand what you are saying some people just start to panic when they see a question that is a big no no or if they don't agree with others responses. I sometimes you just have to look at it as positive criticism and keep it moving. Everyone has there own opinions and some times the debates get a little bit heated but truthfully i don't think anyone has ever crossed the line because someone always tells everyone to calm down and they usually do.

I don't feel anyone is intentionaly rude, just very straightforward. I think it's important that the information we need to take great care of our fur babies is not sugar coated and on point so we have all the information we need. If you can't glide with the sugar gliders stay in your pouch.
