YAY!! I'm soooo happy that you like it!

You probably noticed right away that the detail is much finer than the photos I posted here. There is no way to import a pic with fine enough resolution to portray this. You can probably now understand why when I tried painting with a cat whisker one time, it was too thick!

Seeing how I can barely draw a stick person, I find that fact that you can paint with such fine detail so totally amazing. It also fascinates me that anyone could have such patience.

I do fingerpaint with my day care kids and sadly that's about my level of expertise as well....LOL

I still have not decided for sure where I will put it (and NO KYRO, it is NOT going to be hung in YOUR house!). I took it to show my Grandpa and other family members last night because he just LOVES my little ones.

I will definitely decide and hang it up this weekend!!!!

Karen, I'm not sure if it's patience so much as just plain stubbornness. I average 3 or 4 hours a square inch, and I just bulldog away at it until it's right in my mind.

At long last, I have hung this adorable little glider in MY living room in MY house in OHIO. Sorry to all of you who were hoping I'd hang it at their house.......

He has his very own wall to beautify!

I kind of wanted to put him in the family room since I spend most of my time there but I'm afraid that my tiels would damage it so I've settled on the living room instead.

Where at in the living room? I ask because I don't know if you have a fire place or not, and I'm wondering if such a location might not be the best place for a painting. I'm sure the last thing you'd want is for the painting to get a build up of soot on it.

Dizzysmom, do you have any suggestions on the best way someone might display a painting? Is hanging it away from a fire place a reasonable suggestion? And what about light? Incandescent vs fluorescent?

My absolute favorite painting is hanging right above our fireplace because oil paintings are super easy to clean. I use one of those reeeaallly soft yellow dusting cloths that you buy at the store, and put some mineral oil (baby oil) on it. It's easy to wipe off any schmutz (sp?). DO NOT use paper towels. They can scratch the varnish.

As far as lighting goes, my paintings are a little tricky because they are usually night paintings - thus dark and highly reflective. Natural light is best, but incandescent is good too. I've had some of my collectors put spot lights above them. Fluorescent looks awful, and can change the appearance of some colors.

Hey are you calling me a schmutz?

Actually my fireplace is downstairs in the family room where the birds are so that is not an option. I do REALLY appreciate you asking her about that though Eric! I would be devastated if I did anything harmful to him.

That's funny you mention the spot light Raven because I said something about that just the other day......
