As you might already know Yesterday was 1 week since i rehomed a bonded pair of gliders. I have come to 1 conclusion, they were matched up WRONG. if theyre temperment right now indicates how theyre gonna be bonded then the male is going to be a big baby. right now he is gentle and sweet, caustious yes but gentle . the female however is a different story. she crabs when i go near the cage, she literally trys to take a large chunk of my finger when im cleaning/placing food in the cage. she is a little Fuzzy monster!

i wish i could put the male in with my single lil girl because then i believe i would have the perfect lil pair of gliders! *sigh* Has anyone else felt like this? what is a good why to earn the females trust? she literally scares me. i am dreading the first tent time, i am going to need lots and lots of band-aids! also i think she is also pouch protective and was just wondering if i could use a ferret hammock for their pouch?

Have you tried putting something with your scent in there with her? It might help her start to relax some with you if she knows you as a familiar scent. I always have a little blanket in the cage with my scent on it. I have read to to put a shirt or something you have worn over the cage to.. Maybe put a small bit of honey or yogurt on your finger she can lick off to get used to you also..I don't know of anything else hopefully someone who knows more will reply to this.

Okay. There is a pouch that is made specifically for pouch protective gliders. Some swear by it. Others hate it. Basically it starts off open so the glider can see everything that is scaring it so much. Eventually it sees that these noises are not threats and you gradually close the pouch. If someone could give more info on that, that would be great seeing as I can't find them anywhere to even post a pic. But that may be an option for a pp glider.

I just have to say that I have 4, a mom dad and two babies. The mom is a lot like your girl. She's the one that bites. She's the one that crabs. She's a total b*tch. Seriously. Then you have dad. Who's really sweet and never crabs at me, just clicks/talks to me in a normal tone [the normal meaning it's the same tone he uses when he talks to the other gliders]. But even though that's their temperaments towards me, they are the perfect couple towards each other. Sometimes opposites just attract, even in animals.

Omygosh! My gliders are the same way. The girl literally 5 minutes ago took a chunk off my finger. The boy is so sweet and doesn't mind me at all. When I first got the girl, she would jump and try to but through the cage, but now she just crabs and tries to bite whenever i'm too close. I have tried licky treats off my fingers and she will do fine with that. I'm just worried she will never like me :(

It's actually called the "Pouch Protective Pouch". I had one but mine didn't like going in it. Kazko has some great pictures of a bunch of his in there. It looks like denim on the outside and almost like sherpa on the inside.
