Update:
The vet visit went well. She gave him a shot of Cavena? I can't actually spell it so i have no idea if you guys even know what im talking about haha. She also cleaned the wound area and looked at his teeth and jaw really well. She thinks it was a wound not a tooth problem. She told me I can call for pain medicine if I notice him playing with the wound or not eating but currently she believes he is ok. She was able to get his little mouth open and peek around without much battle from him. He actually just scratched me and bit the stick haha.

But he is currently sleeping. I gave him some pedialyte because he was dehydrated when I got him home.. I dont think he knows where the water bottle is in the emergency cage even though I have showed him.. I will keep a close on him but so far so good

Perhaps a small dish of water instead of a bottle? My girls have this and they do very well with it and don't go in it or get wet (but I have to change it every day or every other day). I am sooooooo glad that things are well with your little boy! Please keep us updated and give him lots of kisses!

Sorry I was upset losing my mind and posted in a whole new topic not this one.

I called Val. She said he is just sleepy from the antibiotic and being woke up so much. She told me to let him sleep today. I slept with him literally beside me last night and he was up running around playing with the one toy in his emergency cage (his stuffed animal) He ate food and he is not dehydrated. I checked him this morning.

So all is well as of now. I am exhausted but he is sleeping peacefully haha

He is still doing well. Eating/Drinking/Pooping/Peeing
lots of pooping and peeing on me.. typical glider stuff haha
I just peeked in on him and he is playing with his stuffy and looks very alert.
I can't wait for his wound to heal so I can put him back in the main cage with his brother...

When I introduced them a couple days ago Milo instantly tried to wrestle Meeko. Val said they can wrestle just no fighting but why must he even wrestle poor Meeko haha.

I would say supervised playtime would be okay, or perhaps put them together in a pouch on you and be able to keep an eye on them. If the two or together (for short periods of time and supervised so he is not injured) maybe he will heal better and get back to his old self!

Janae I'm so happy Meeko is doing well. Supervised play time should be fine. Keep your eye(s) on them until that wound is totally healed. No scab or pink area. We know how gliders will overgroom themselves or each other and get carried away. Make sure when you cannot be with them that they are seperated and I suggest they sleep in seperate cages until as stated above that wound is totally healed. We know that under a scab is a wound waiting to be festered. Thank goodness all is well again and you can get some rest and your worries over.

I have them together right now playing and honestly Im a little worried by Milo's attitude towards Meeko. The second I put Meeko back in their big cage he started making a hissing sound! Then he tried to get on Meeko's back and I could see that his hands were clenched hard.
Meeko is still in there.. Im going to be leaving for a little while so Im going to put Meeko back in the emergency cage so that he can be safe.
How long does a wound take to heal?? I feel bad having them apart! Even though Milo clearly is enjoying being alone.

With gliders, the hissing sound is a greeting. It sounds to me like he missed his brother. You're wise to separate them whenever you can't be right there to keep an eye on them. Depending on how severe the wound is, it could take several weeks to heal. Even when the skin is healed, you'll want to wait til the fur is completely grown in and you can't see any sign of the injury at all. Just keep on as you're doing, and watch the boys.

Grr. I tried to let them play tonight while watching and Milo instantly tried to groom Meeko's neck area.. where the wound is healing.
I had to cut Meeko's nails because since he is out of the main cage he doesn't have the wodent wheel to trim his nails and they are getting pretty long. I hate cutting their nails I always get so scared... and so do they haha
