I got three adult sugar gliders in July, one male and two females. The lady who sold them told me that they were both pregnant. Well Coco, one of the females, was obviously pregnant, and the other one, Beyonca, wasn't even showing. Coco had her baby and decided to neglect him so I had to hand raise him. I fell in love with him right away and my boyfriend at the time named him Rocky. He was with me every second, he went to school, work, and even dance practice withme. I made sure to feed him every three hours and made sure he went to the bathroom. Unfortuantely we had an accident and he passed . It was awful I felt like I lost my child. It's still hard not having him he was the cutest th ing ever. We think he was a runt and that's why his mom neglected him because he was covered in hair but looked much smaller than the other Joeys I have seen that were his age. He had smaller ears and was just so tiny. I loved him so much. Odly the night before he died his mom Coco died because she was on top of the rodent wheel when Buddy, the male, started runing and she got taken under. Coco was the only one who was starting to warm up to me out of the adults and obviously Rocky was the most attached to me and vis versa. When I lost Coco I thought it'd be okay because I still had Rocky.

So now I have my two other adults who are no so interested in warming up for me and it's hard for me to do the same because I was so attached to Rocky. I have tried letting them eat from my hand and they still try to bite me. I haven't been able to let them out of their cage to play with me because I'm afraid they'll bite me. I need help to bond with them! Any ideas?

I also do not think Beyonca is pregnant becuase she is not showing at all still. I was told to feel her belly but she will not let me do that.

I was told that they should bathe eachother, but I don't think they do. Buddy pees on EVERYTHING!! including on Beyonca. His Belly is like a golden color and I know it's not supposed to be that color because it was a creme color when I got him. They need bathed but I don't know how to do this when they won't let me touch them. Any ideas?

I'm sorry about your two gliders. It sounds like you had a good bond with them. People are right though, you should not have to bathe him. Have you considered getting him neutered? He will mark less and Beyonca definitely won't get pregnant. I'm surprised she hasn't yet. I would highly recommend you talk to you vet about it ASAP. Changing color could also have to do with diet. What diet are they on? As far as bonding, if you type in "bonding tips" up at the top in the search box, you'll get TONS of helpful info.

Thanks. They are on the BML diet. He's the only one who has changed color on his stomach. Beyonca just smells like his pee and she has a tiny bit of color difference on her. I am considering getting him nuetered but I think we might want to add another one to their family first so they have another friend to play with.

Oh and I noticed recently if I don't give them each their own protion they fight over their food. Is this normal?

Yes, some gliders (lots, in fact) will not just share their food. Not a problem with how you're handling it. Many of us have multiple feeding stations set up in the cages to accommodate this potential issue. Sometimes the females will become more food protective and grouchy when they're in heat--see guys, it's natural! LOL!

Oh yes I know lol.. Coco did that all the time so we just gave her, her own and the other two shared. Now the two won't share anymore. I think Coco kept them in line lol.

I'm really scared now, my gliders do all types of crazy things on their wodent wheel, and i just figured it was fine. One will be at the to the other one will start running in the wheel while the one on the top hangs on for dear life, they do flips in the wheel hang upside down hang outside the wheel and let each other take turns spinning....the wheel is their fav. thing..in fact i have a big wheel and a small wheel so they each can have their own when they want to....is that safe or shoould i take the wheel out...I cant bear to imagine them getting hurt or dying!!! So sorry for ur loss....at least they were loved, and got to experience a good home before they passed...

The wheel will be fine as long as they have room to fit under it. Part of the support to our wheel had fallen to the bottom just make sure they are properly positioned
