This is a terrible thing to have happened. I'm so sorry about your male glider and now your female having joey's alone. Please watch her carefully in case she rejects them and be prepared in case she does. Also watch her for depression as even though we really don't know what happened to really cause all this she is sure to begin to miss him and this could complicate things as her mental state of mind changes.

Kazko your idea to maybe use some threads in here as a quick refernce for advice based on actual experiences would be very helpful. I was in the gliderpedia last night and noticed some links attached under certain topics. I was reading those links as well so I know it can work.

Again I'm so sorry for your loss and for the loss to your female and her babies. Their daddy will be missed. R.I.P. little man.

There is nothing we can do to take away the shock and heartache of this tragedy. All we can do is say that we're sorry and in our thoughts.

Thank you for coming here and posting about it. Your story could very well save another glider's life. I know that's not a comfort to you right now, but thank you.

Please dont blame yourself for what happened. There are many glider owners who have done exactly what you did without harm. I do think after this we will all advise against it.

There is just no way of knowing how your other gliders will react to things of this nature. When we had Peppy fixed Sassy and Sally never even bothered him and he never bothered the site either. It was real easy... most things where with those 3.

Awww, I was so hoping for a positive outcome...I have a lump in my throat. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. If you are close with mom, don't change what you're doing with her. She'll need your interaction. If you are not close and you feel like you will stress her, maybe give her some space. Try your best to read what she's wanting. I know mine would "use" me as a babysitter quite often. Maybe she will use you as well. :) I wish I could say something to make it better.

I did have one unexpectedly pass about a year and a half ago...I told the vet to please take care of him for me. I couldn't handle it.

Maybe speak with your vet about a payment plan. It seems like they would run into this kind of situation that's unexpected and hopefully, they'll work with you. There's also www.carecredit.com . They can be great in a bind also.

When Angel passed away in surgery I brought her home and buried her. The vet was nice enough to take her paw prints for us and send them to us on a lovely card. I later got the print blown up slightly and tattooed to my ankle. That way Ill never forget her.

Im sorry for your loss, either way Im sure you will never forget. We went through months with Angel, vet bills were over 1000 $. Please dont blame your girl, she wasnt trying to hurt him, just help him cause he couldnt reach. I hope she keeps the babies, I had a female have joeys come out just after Angel passed and It helped alot. Good luck and again Im sorry.

I am so sorry for your loss. there was nothing you could have done better as there really is no "norm" for these situations. I had one that passed after coming home from the vet and my heart has never been the same since. ever since race, I have commited myself to being a much better glider owner and person. When my gliders have died I had them cremated at the vet since live in an apartment.

My vet also gives us the choice to have them cremated with the other deceased animals or alone and keep the ashes (For an extra charge) I dont know what I would do with a tiny vial of glider ashes, so I just have them disposed of with the others.

I'm sorry for your loss. I know that condolences wont make it better but its the best we can do.

I can't tell you how sorry I am. He will live on though through the babies. Keep us posted and let us know how everything goes.

Oh my gosh. How terible I am so sorry for your loss. Hope the new born joeys (coming soon) will take your mind off things a bit. Thanks for sharing this news tho. Makes us newbies more aware of how things can be. An awful thing to happen tho.
